For all those talking about the oil leaking, it does leak everything out under certain circumstances. I was frustrated with mine when I stored it upright (imagine holding the saw with two hands and placing it on the ground in that orientation). You would think that it should be stored like this, but my chainsaw leaked everywhere. When I started storing mine on its side so that you can see the oil fill cap on top, it stopped leaking like a sieve! Again, try storing it on its side so that the oil fill cap is facing upward as if you were filling it with oil.

One of the cheapest ways to get a battery and charger is to buy a kit with an impact [homedepot.com] or drill [homedepot.com] for $99 which has a 2Ah battery and a charger.

However, you probably are going to be wanting a 4Ah battery for the chainsaw. You can pick up a 4Ah compact battery [homedepot.com] for $59. At that point you're best off looking for a charger on Facebook Marketplace.

Another alternative would be a 3Ah battery and charger [homedepot.com] for $99. Although, you could get two 3Ah [homedepot.com] without a charger for the same price and pick up a charger from Marketplace.

Otherwise, there are several deals at the moment that have multiple batteries but they would be much more out of pocket.

Thank you! My original Dewalt 20v chainsaw finally died after years of use, so glad to have another one again!
Edit - they had over 300 available before I took a quick break, now it's 273, so don't wait on this one if you want this bare tool.

Reddit is saying this thing has oil leak issues. Or is that a different model? I'm still considering something like this as a "gift suggestion" for me even though I don't have an immediate need for it.

Awesome, I've been waiting for this to come back in stock. I got in on the last round but my unit had a bad trigger which seems to be a common issue. Make sure to test yours shortly after delivery. They left a note on my account to update any order to the sale price for when it came back in stock, now I don't have to deal with customer support.

Yeah it does! Lots of complaints. Maybe its been resolved I don't know. Store it with the oil cap facing down and it doesn't leak at least mine doesn't. But is one handy tool to have though.

I bought one of these last time it was on sale. It was on my porch the next morning. I bought a dewalt to Ryobi battery adapter, and used the heck out of it just yesterday. I did great! Nice and light. I cut through about 5 inch branches with ease. Didn't even exhaust one battery.
