After doing the $5 sub I didn't see the Skip to Gold under my rewards but it was located on my main page of the Play Store app. Here is a screenshot of what to look for if you can't find it: https://imgur.com/a/iPHD9kR

Once I skipped to gold, the 30% off coupon showed up under Perks when you look at your Play Points by clicking the blue point total on the top of the main page https://imgur.com/a/DKZNsyg

Can confirm, I just joined Play Pass for $4.99 (paid with Google Rewards) and I did have to select the "advance to Gold tier"...after that the 30% off coupon was listed at the bottom of the perks section. New phone should be here this weekend.

I was also thinking about waiting, but Google is ending their "enhanced trade-in" values on 11/7/24 so there is no guarantee that your trade-in value will be the same on Black Friday.
