but they probably won't review the 85" version.

Looking at the specs on Amazon & TCL.com... it seems to be an 85" Q651G series with added brightness and local dimming.
TCL 85-Inch Q65 QLED 4K UHD Smart TV with Google TV (85Q651G, 2024 Model) Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, HDR Pro+, Game Accelerator Enhanced Gaming, Voice Remote, Works with Alexa, Streaming Television https://a.co/d/8KiIQ1l
Edit: OK I see the one OP posted is 144hz and Full Array. The one I linked is Direct Lit and 120hz.
Id say Ops is worth the difference. I'm putting it on my shortlist! Thanks!

The current 7 series was a slightly disappointing runner-up, and I just remember a vague "avoid 6-series" rattling around in my head.
I'd suggest looking up how many actual zones exist on this one? I suspect it'll be lacking on that front, alongside the typical "TCL crap viewing angle" on pretty much all of'em (I almost exclusively buy TCL tv's...I just think the incredible low prices offset this very real issue)
random note, and completely unrelated to this 85" offering: I do remember noting that the number of zones was bumped up between their 75" & 85" offerings, but 85" ~> 98" unfortunately had the same number of zones (so no increased number to go along with the extra 13" diagonal space). This seemed dumb.
Honestly, as a TCL and google TV fan (I know, I know) $1k for an 85" 4k seems like a crazy steal

Remaining considerations would be:

All I meant was, the last time I evaluated TCL sets in the 85"-98" range, I had settled on this as the one to get: https://a.co/d/dflnu2U
That said, $2.5k is a far cry from $1k and I'm absolutely not claiming it's worth a $1.5k price difference! More a note to myself to see if things have significantly changed since then.
I guess my main suggestion would be to do a specific spec comparison between this Q6 and the current 85QM851G, to see what exactly you'd be missing out on. They might've closed the gap with this one, which would be fantastic news at this price
