I'm gameplanning a SFF Fractal Ridge build and weighing the AM5 CPU to go along with my 3080Ti until we see the 50 series/8000 series benchmarks and options after CES. I think i should see a notable improvement fps wise on my 3080Ti coming from a 11700k as i wait on a replacement for it.
Personally, I would wait a couple months to see how the 50 series and AMD RDNA 4 GPUs shake up the mid-range pricing.
Based on the most recent leaks, the 5070 will only have 12GB of VRAM, as others have mentioned. However, there's a good chance that AMD's 16GB offering will have similar overall performance to this for under $600 (I've seen rumors claiming the 8800XT will be on par with the 4080 for $499, but I'll believe it when I see it).
Usually, the top of the market is horribly overpriced where you pay +100% for +20% performance.
I'd personally go for the 4080 super between the two cards.
$1000-$730=$270
