*The Annual Percentage Yield (APY) is accurate as of 1/30/2025. The base and promotional interest rate and corresponding APY for Axos ONE Checking is variable and is set at our discretion. The base and promotional interest rate and corresponding APY for Axos ONE Savings is variable and is set at our discretion. Axos ONE Savings is a tiered variable rate account. Axos ONE Checking is a non-tiered variable rate account. Interest rates may change as often as daily without prior notice. Fees may reduce earnings.

The Qualification Period is from the 1st of the month through the 25th of the month. Any qualifying direct deposits received after the 25th of the month will count toward the next Qualification Period.
A direct deposit is an electronic deposit of your paycheck or government benefits, such as Social Security, Disability, etc. Other deposits (i.e., online banking transfers, ATM and mobile check deposits, etc.) or person-to-person payments are not considered a direct deposit.

Qualifying deposits only include deposits from the following eligible sources: (i) ACH transfers from external accounts, (ii) inbound wire transfers from external accounts, (iii) check deposits. Qualifying deposits do not include: (i) transfers internal to the bank (i.e., transfers between an account holder's Checking and/or Savings account), (ii) interest payments, (iii) promotional bonuses, (iv) credits, reversals, and refunds.

Both accounts must be in an open and active status on the date the interest is paid to receive the promotional APY for that statement cycle. Account transactions may take one or more business days from the transaction date to post to the account.

I am done chasing these. I just do swvxx, vanguard settlement fund, or other similar money market funds. They pay near the top of any bank and the rates float with the bond market rather than a bank's customer acquisition plans.
Can you tell me more about these? I'm not familiar with this at all. I'd appreciate any help. How do I get an account like this?

Axos bank plays games with customers (like many banks). I had a bad experience with them in the past and would not recommend them to anyone.

They are the type of bank that will advertise some high/competative rate money market account, you will sign up for the account, and then after a few months, they will start dropping the interest rate every month (meanwhile general market rates may be unchanged or going up). Then a few months later they will introduce some all new money market account with a competitive/high rate, but your current/old money market account with them will not get converted to the new money market account they are offering, and they will continue to drop your current account interest rate. If you want the new money market account rate, they will tell you to apply for a new account. Rinse and repeat.

But these money market funds aren't FDIC insured, if that matters to you.

If you're going to do something like this it can be advantageous to invest in a fund that has a high % of US Gov bonds so that it's "mostly" state tax free. People in states that don't have a state income tax don't have to worry about that, and the calculation process can be a bit of a PITA, but in states like mine an extra 10% in the end is usually worth it to me Big Grin

This of course assumes you don't want to just buy them directly from TreasuryDirect or one of the brokerage sites and not have to do the calculation.

ICYMI, this is a good site... just scroll past the sponsored listings for the best deal.
Beware, the best rates tend to be with institutions that may have terrible service, etc. Read the reviews/ratings!

FYI, I will Never bank with UFB Direct again. And I think Axos Bank owns them.

FWIW, I really like MyMoneyBlog for personal finance. Near the beginning of every month, he posts a roundup of best interest rates on cash:
