Maybe this deal is better now with a 2-year warranty (not sure what that entails) but I got burned on the refurb XM4 set that became dead weight. The sad part is they were great in terms of sound and ANC, but the batteries just don't last after a few months. I think the left would only last 15 mins on a full charge and the right would be longer. I'd make sure that warranty is good if you decide to buy.

I bought the Link buds from Secondipity and returned the next day. Left ear buds stayed charged for 2 minutes.

How are these "certified"? Is that just marketing?

Unrelated I got the xm4 headphones from second pity open box but was clearly heavily used. I emailed them a week ago and no response. Is this normal?
No. They usually respond fast and will accept the return no questions asked.

I grabbed these on a previous deal from the same seller but lately I find that lining up the right bud to charge is extremely finnicky. Is there any kind of fix for this? I did try cleaning the contacts but to no avail.
I'd consider buying some more and exercising the warranty but they do still charge if I'm careful about it so I'm not sure how that would go.

Why can't you just return it? Go for the returns next time because they have better warranty.

I had good support with some XM4's I purchased like this. The battery went dead about 16 months so I submitted a claim and got 100% of my money back (sans shipping).

Would definitely purchase these if I didn't already have a pair

Do these have the same battery problems as the XM4?
Not sure why you're getting thumbs down but this is a legitimate question. My xm4 batteries suck and I get alot of random disconnects from one earbud.

Man I hate how the headphone jack is gone. I blew $150 on the XM4's a few years ago and the battery life sucks now, but replacing the battery is expensive and a pain in the butt... When I was in college my favorite earphones cost $50 and lasted 5+ years.

This wireless shit is a scam.

The sound quality and noise cancellation is excellent with these. I've got a pair of these to use at home and another pair to use at work. I would highly recommend them, along with the incredibly cheap insurance that eBay offers through Allstate, for peace of mind.

I'd like to add my own anecdotes regarding the similar Sony WF-C700N earbuds I own, which are a budget version of the XM5. Firstly, the XM5's have touch-sensitive controls whereas the 700N's have button controls. I thought I'd prefer buttons as they're less finicky than touch-sensitive controls, but I've since changed my mind as it pertains to earbuds. You can wear XM5's to bed and lay on your side, but you can't do that with the 700N's because a pillow might push its button. Also, the 700N's noise cancellation has intentionally worse ANC compared with my XM3's headphones (still going strong!), so I suspect Sony deliberately keeps premium versions such as this XM5 at the top of the list. Next, the voice call mic is said to be excellent by people I speak to so I suspect XM5 will be similar. Lastly, my only complaint is the very strange behavior of Bluetooth connection... it seems to have a mind of it's own. It will begin to connect to my phone when I enter the room, I can't get it to disconnect when I put the earbuds back in the case, and the left/right buds will disconnect from each other intermittently. I hope this isn't the case for the XM5, but be aware frustrations do exist.

It's a fairly easy fix. They sell battery replacement kits on Amazon. All you need is a hair dryer to heat up the glue

Secondipity via ebay is the best way to get these, the 2yr warranty is worth it. I don't think the 5s suffer from the same battery issues as the 4s, but I used the warranty on the 4s before.

How would these compare to the Sennheiser's at $65? https://slickdeals.net/f/17872560-new-sennheiser-momentum-true-wireless-2-anc-earbuds-64-99-free-shipping-for-prime-members-64-99

Need something to replace my airpods which are just screeching in my ear now and out of warranty

AirpodsPro hands down in every possible way. It's not even comparable.
This is correct if your music source is an Apple device. AirPods do not do well with Android devices in terms of sound quality, plus some other features may not work.
