How they work from that can be more or less painful depending on the app:
- YouTube Music (the audio streaming app) can easily cast to them, as stereo.
- YouTube (the video focused app) doesn't offer to cast to them but you can cast the audio from your phone to them regardless from the menu shade or the home app. The audio may be out of sync with the video on your phone. I don't know why Google don't make this better.
- Better option is to go into the home app and the speaker settings and enable Bluetooth pairing. You can then pair them like any Bluetooth speaker, the two speakers show up as one device for pairing. They play in stereo and more in sync, but not perfect there is some slight delay but it's tolerable. Audio quality is good. Edit: Just found out you can use voice commands to enable Bluetooth pairing, much faster/easier.
So just bear in mind they're primarily optimized for casting from audio apps, not video apps, though you can make either work with some effort. Google could really make the experience a lot better, I bet lots of people just want better sound on YouTube, and streaming to speakers should be built in.
