Just bought one from Costco, had it installed yesterday - Made in Germany. Only did 1 wash, but so far very impressed, my old GE did not perform anywhere close. The rack design will take some getting used to.

The SHX78CM5N has dimensions of approximately 23 9/16 inches wide, 33 7/8 inches high, and 23 3/4 inches deep. It also does not has a water softener. The SHX78B75UC has dimensions of approximately 23 9/16 inches wide, 34 1/16 inches high, and 22 9/16 inches deep. It also includes a water softener. The USA made model has a much better rack design (properly spaced, foldable), Powerwash arm in lieu of the water softener, and a noticeable larger interior.

Dishwashers really are a crapshoot. Lotta stuff on Reddit about how its difficult to get parts for this dishwasher and its super expensive to repair.
I went with this Maytag for half the price (which is almost exactly the same as the Kitchenaid 604 series) . It is still available for 450 shipped thru perks at work.

glad to know this as well, I was actually considering replacing my 15 year washer, it still works but just want something new. didnt know their was differences.
