SSD is user replaceable m.2 2230. Apple is killin' it

This is not correct. The SSD is removeable. It is not a consumer m.2 socket, Apple has chosen a different type of socket.

Even on the base model, the benchmarks are absurd. I'm really impressed by the power behind these M-series chips. My wife's bottom rail Macbook Air M1 can basically run the same level of AI tools I need my 3080 to do. Too bad memory and storage are so crazy expensive

Tiny yet most powerful, silent, cold while editing videos, looks classy and clean on desk, and I was using headset not knowing that speaker inbuilt .. you copy something on iPhone, you past it here ..the eco system getting better and better with apple intelligence

No no. You they smart?. Ask any Apple engineer person if you are very close. It is big topic. Education store products are looks and feel same. They mad with the hardware of recycled of old products not all parts. It's Random pick!. They won't make in same shop Floor line. Serial numbers in middle also different on education products. Within Apple engineering team only able to find this.

Yeah cause Apple doesn't already know and is going to learn about it for the first time from slickdeals.

It will be interesting that Apple will capture a large market share of Mac sales this 4th Qrt holiday season.

I didn't realize there was no verification. I had our son buy it through his school based email...

I can say they ship fast once you place the order and there's no charge for shipping.

I ordered an Apple mouse from Amazon separately. Pretty slick mouse.

I set it up last night and am happy at how zippy it is. Form factor is very small.

Everything so far has been plug and play and I was able to use my Razer keyboard with it (using a 7-in-1 USB C to USB A hub). Now we just need to get used to iOS vs. winblows.

It's just a matter of time; 6 months you'll feel it and 12 months you will be scratching your head.

BTW, there's no apple "ordering thru" process any type of email lookup; you just go to the edu portal, pay your money, tell them where to ship it....done.

I'm very familiar with iOS mobile and on the ipad. I also understand their file systems... I have a Macintosh. It's from 1985. I also had a PowerBook for a few years.
Everything after was x86 due to work and gaming. I don't game much and there's no work related issues anymore.
The only thing I think iOS is missing is the ease of the right click...

Again the EDU prices are similar to MicroCenter's...LOL! There is no magic to buying through Apple EDU...In most cases MC prices are slightly better. You are comparing the M4 16/256 model @ $499. If you are big on Apple EDU....go ahead and purchase the MacBook Air M2 16GB for $899, while Coscto Members can purchase for $749. MicroCenter will even PM that price as well. Not every EDU pricing is better than getting a much better deal outside of Apple's website.
Get a grip, not everyone lives close to a MC, lucky you!!!
Do you feel better now? I guess you were looking for some validation, there I gave to you. Give it rest now.

Does anyone have a 48"-55" Oled or Mled TV as a monitor and how is the text and image quality? I am considering a LG 48C3 or TCL QM7 with the Mac Mini.

Quite a few UltraGear monitors sold from MicroCenter. Solid monitors. Although IPS panels lack color saturation, but text remains crisp. For a 1440p/165 monitor this a decent deal. MSI, Asus, Acer are all similar. A 1440p/165 monitor should be somewhere near $140-$160. Overall, will get the job done, but won't be groundbreaking neither. Going OLED or MLED will give you the wow effect. Just about every budget monitor looks washed out compared to OLED, but you have reduced burn-in issues down the road.
