I bought this model (minus the sunshade) because they were supposedly well made, my wife bought another GCI chair. Neither one lasted longer than a single baseball season before the various connectors started breaking. I've found some bolts and nuts to reconnect the arms but then they don't want to fold up nicely anymore. Getting different brand chairs next year. back in the day you could buy any Walmart or Costco chair and they'd last years if not decades, now the $100 chairs fall apart in a year.

You nailed it. These chairs are ALL one season throwaways. I just wait until the season is done, and grab another pair of $5-10 discounted chairs for the next year. If they survive the summer, then I'm pleasantly surprised.

I also bought two of the same chairs you did and I'm almost done with the third year of sports and both have held up great. I read these comments and wonder if I somehow wound up with two from a better batch. The only thing that hasn't held up is the bag which the stitching has ripped on one of them. They've been great for me and more comfortable than the non rocking ones, just heavier and a little bit of a pain to fold up and put in the bag. I'm sure both of mine will break now that I say this but that's been my experience.

Maybe they did switch manufacturers recently but I love this. Back is a little higher which is nice when I pass out around the fire and wake up with a slightly less kinked neck.
I have too many chairs but trying hard not to buy this....

We have three different GCI chairs had they have all lasted over three years now. Getting this one too. Have the roadtrip rocker, this one without the shade, and the pod rocker. Wish I didn't have the others now so I could get 4 of these.

Go online and do a warranty claim. They replaced mine with no issue after 3 years.

I've had mine for 2 years and use it 9 months out of the year. It's still working well. My wife has the non rocking one and same status
