I bought these Reliants last year in December during a similar deal for my 2012 Accord. I was pretty hesitant as I usually try to get highly ranked tires. But to be honest, these tires are great. They are as quiet as my prior Pirelli Cinturatos. Snow has been rare lately, so I didn't really get to test them on snow or ice. But they are great in rain, and I've been in torrential rainstorms on the highway with them. I don't drive at excessive speeds or very aggressive, so your mileage may vary. Can't say much about wear since it's only been one year and maybe 15,000 miles, but they look no better or worse at this point than more expensive tires did. I will probably get them again if this deal keeps coming back every November/December.
My luck, I just bought a set last week
I have had assurance 80000 mile tire they last a very long time

Can you send link to V reliant ? I don't see at Walmart site
Look for the "V" at the end of the tire number...example 205/55R16 91V. The "V" rated tires have better construction (more ply, stronger sidewall, improved thermal dissipation, etc) to handle high speed.

I see dummies claiming that these 149 mph V rated tires are unsafe above 45 mph! The "V" rated Reliant is as good, if not better than the Outlast when it comes to high speed handling. The Outlast has more silica and carbon black for longer tire life and slightly different thread pattern. Accurate tire balance is the key to achieve quiet tire operation. Wally World isn't known to have the best tire tech or balancing equipment.

Most cars come with H rated tires. That's why the junk "H" rated Reliants cost more than the "V".

Hi peeps and tire gurus. Unfortunately they don't offer my size in the goodyear reliants. I bought a set of kumho tires last week and supposed to have them installed on the 11th but I noticed on the 11th, they have cooper tires for only $3 more per tire. The kumho's don't state a treadware warranty but the cooper is 60k. I know not to put stock into treadware warranties but which ones do you think are a better deal? Many thanks as always... Turtle
Kumho Solus TA11 is the superior tire if you want super low noise, softer ride and long life. We get +85K miles life on a Corolla. The Reliant "V" rated has better handling in dry/wet (stronger construction), but it's only good for 60K miles. Both tires are made in USA. I prefer the Reliant V because I only log 9K miles/year. Goodyear owns Cooper, but I doubt that it's a better value vs.the Reliant V. The Reliant H (speed rating) is junk. Very weak construction.

Go with PIRELLI P4 PERSIST AS PLUS if you want very good handling and long life from the tires. These stiff sidewall tires are usually shipped from Brazil.

So these goodyear tires are only made for Walmart correct? For example, the Goodyear Assurance Outlast tires seem to be 50-60 dollars less than the same Goodyear Assurance tires from Bjs, Costco, Discount Tire with the same tread rating, mileage, etc? Why such a big price difference?

Also these won't be able to be price-matched anywhere because they are unique to Walmart, no?
Most cars come from the factory with H speed rating, so Goodyear builds junk Reliant H tires for Sammy. The Reliant V tires have better construction, but they don't sell well because V rated tires are usually found on high performance vehicles.

Good tires, but take them to a good tire shop and pay for a lifetime install and rotation/balance. If you plan on doing rotations yourself might be ok but if you value your time and plan to get your tires rotated/balanced every year, have install done at a Discount Tire or somewhere else.
I statically balance my tire to 1/8 oz or better using the Harbor Freight balancer. The industry uses 1/4 oz weight. Glue the weight near the center of mass of the tire if possible. The quality of work at tire shops can be hit or miss, especially at Wally World.

Assurance vs Reliant? Is there enough to warrant a $30 difference per tire?

No. Balancing a tire/wheel assembly is done by spinning said assembly on a machine, and adding weights at certain areas, as directed by the machine, to correct an assembly that is out of balance. An alignment is done with wheels and tires on the car, and adjusts the "attitude" of the wheel/tire assemblies, so they are pointed and tilted the correct way, so the car handles as designed, and tire life is maximized.
Dynamic tire balance requires taking rim width measurement which is rarely done at many tire shops. I have no problem fixing noisy new non-defective street tires by rebalancing them on my Harbor Freight tire balancer to within 1/4 oz. Bent rim can also be the source of noisy tire.

Note that for many new non-high performance cars, only toe-in is adjustable. Uneven wear, caster, camber out of spec are generally fixed by replacing the damaged/worn out suspension component(s).

If the tires wear evenly and the car stay in lane at highway speed for 2-3 seconds, then the alignment should be OK. Drive on the center lane to ensure that the road is level when testing.

Anyone know of upcoming general tires?
I've had continentals and goodyears and goodyears were by far the worst and they dont honor their warranty. Happened to my and a family member installed at a goodyear shop.

I need something for my DD that will handle light snow.

The price looks very attractive, about half of that of the cheapest tires at Costco.

Can I buy the tires now, and go back to Walmart for installation in a year? Or does Walmart run the promotion every Thanksgiving?
Learn from my lesson. Buy the tires from Walmart. DO NOT get them installed there .. they do a horrible job and I would never get it done there again.

The Reliant had really bad tread wear. I bought one while on a trip and it only lasted 12k before I had to replace it. Just replaced it recently with the Assurance so I'm not sure on the wear on that. No way in hell I'm replacing the Reliant with the same model.

Dang it i just installed exact sets at Sams club today... for 2 cars!!! ArgggThanks for post, OP!
Sams usually sells Goodyear Assurance. Reliant is made for Walmart specifically, slightly inferior. Don't feel too bad.
