You'll like this one. I was in the Costco line today returning something and the older man in front of me who was probably 50-60 years old was returning used socks and used underwear from 2018. I shit you not (literally). The Costco CSR said that it's not a returnable item and that she would not be handling his used socks or underwear and not to even put it on the counter. He put up a little fit and then just tossed the socks and underwear into the trash can. He then proceeded to try and return used light bulbs from 2017 and had a few other items from god knows when trying to return them as well. What a trash human being.

I'm seeing items now have their page say certain clitems cannot be discounted. I was looking at a Kickr Bike Shift which now shows does not accept further discounts. Bummer.

Looking at the Patagonia items on sale, the sale prices are marked up at least 20% over the sale prices on Patagonia's website.

Edit: I ended up getting some DarnTough socks. Pretty decent deal with my rewards included.

A lot of the outlet items are marked up, and not a great deal even after applying the coupon. Finding a full price item that is eligible and doesn't go on sale often is a better deal IMO.

I can assure you that our experience has been quite bad. She only wore hers for basically one season of occasional light hiking. They started fraying and now the soles are separating from the upper. Mine are still in decent condition, but already showing noticeable wear.

They have gone downhill massively

I normally would get a pair of Targhees to last years, wearing them on the weekends. Now, I am lucky to get them to last longer than a year. What typically happens is the rubber separates from the foam cushion, or the interior liner starts splitting and tearing open, resulting in the rear ankle area getting dug into.

Luckily, Keen's warranty process is fairly easy, and if you are within 1 year, they will email you a promo code to cover the purchase price you paid from your proof of purchase.

I got sick of doing it though, so I simply stopped buying them and went with other brands that last longer
