The way we get around the color/card issue is by referring to the color directly on the board.

We also have everyone take a card at all times so you can plan ahead and have a clue ready for when it's your turn.

That reduces the downtime and also eliminates the likelihood of someone else noticing where on the board you're looking, since they're focused on their own.

Also there are way too many greens and yellows and not enough blues on the board.
So many green tiles look exactly alike, but the blue section is really crowded

My kids love this game, it's not bad with 4 or so people but if you have all the players it can end up rather long.
