Got my Verizon iPhone today. added a payment method on my new Verizon account.
dialed 8008374966 and provided the new phone number
Said "pay off device" when asked the reason for calling and follow the prompts.
Fully paid the 299$ for the device with Automated system without talking with a live person.

Then called in and spoke to a live person and canceled the line.

Last time a bunch of us did this, I believe we learned that the clock starts ticking for the Verizon 3 day cancellation when the phone ships. Thus it was recommended to only buy in store and not for shipping. I was able to buy in store, create account, call Verizon to pay in full and then cancel all within 24-36 hours.

If you're waiting 3 days for the shipment I don't see you getting out of the activation fee.

Activated on shipping. The two I ordered shipped yesterday and today I got the email from Verizon. Logged into the account and sure enough, both devices have phone numbers assigned and show activation date of yesterday.

Phones are still on a truck in FL but somehow are supposed to be delivered tomorrow.. If not there goes the $35 activation fee... (they are for relatives and are aware of the potential of having to pay the $35 even a month of service).
I am also worried about the tracking. Last update was picked up yesterday in Davenport Florida. Home delivery makes it worse

how do i pay off early with at&t? i need to call them? or is there any easier automated system to pay it off?
You log into your AT&T account and click on pay off device. Unless you're doing a upgrade you won't be able to unlock the device until you have the phone line for 60 days.

thanks for this!!

so I hope I didn't jump the gun since I still haven't gotten my iPhone 14 in yet.
I added a credit card to my account.

I called up that number using my tmobile line.
I input the new phone number that verizon gave me with the iPhone 14

I said "pay off device"
The automated system asked if I wanted to pay with the card ending in: 1234

I said yes. Automated system gave me a confirmation number for paying it off.

A text to my main verizon line was sent from short code: 899000

Verizon Msg: Thanks for your $299.00 payment from card ending in 1234. For balance info, dial #BAL

reason why I didn't call from my main verizon line was because when I would say "pay off device" it would think I wanted to pay off the iPhone 15 pro max on my main line.

Payment option says pay in full price is 879.
Have anyone tried paying off? Payoff amount is based on 8.31 per month or full amount? That would be a bummer if later we find this

Create a new account with Verizon, add your Verizon line number, and activate your online account. Once activated, you'll be able to view all the details on your account page.

does anyone know why it shows my account "you cannot pay off the device for another 30 days".

Edit: my bank put a fraud alert. i approved that and tried again which went successfully.

That shows up on my online account as well.

Look up a few posts. Someone put a phone number to call

Call using a non verizon number. Be sure you add a credit card to your verizon account prior to calling

I'm confused on what the deal is here? Can't you get a free iPhone 16 if you are adding a line? 3 year financing on a model that is 2 years old?

Verizon is postpaid, so not up front.
i don't know why, but for me, it forces me to select a verizon wireless plan, and it says like 111 due today/due to verizon?
