Got my Verizon iPhone today. added a payment method on my new Verizon account.
dialed 8008374966 and provided the new phone number
Said "pay off device" when asked the reason for calling and follow the prompts.
Fully paid the 299$ for the device with Automated system without talking with a live person.

Then called in and spoke to a live person and canceled the line.

Last time a bunch of us did this, I believe we learned that the clock starts ticking for the Verizon 3 day cancellation when the phone ships. Thus it was recommended to only buy in store and not for shipping. I was able to buy in store, create account, call Verizon to pay in full and then cancel all within 24-36 hours.

If you're waiting 3 days for the shipment I don't see you getting out of the activation fee.

also, did they remove all the fees? I'm checking the bill now and it's showing like $86 so far....and that's on the cheapest plan for this line.
If you already have an account with them, you can call customer care and cancel the line without activating it. I cancelled mine today after it was shipped but without receiving the phone.

For some reason the phone is not activating even after contacting Verizon. Can I return it to Walmart even though I opened it. And will I be charged by Verizon for 36 months?

Ordered on 11/11 night
Shipped on 11/12 and got it on 11/13

I made a verizon account thru verizon app then linked the service using the phone number after the phone got shipped. I also added a payment method to the account.

After I got the phone, I turned it on to connect to a wifi to make sure it's activated (not sure if this matters).

Called the number from a post in this thread and said "pay off device". Got to use the payment method on the account to pay without talking to an agent. Then chat with an agent to cancel the line and confirm I'd get activation fee back and the phone will be unlocked automatically after 60 days.

Total would be taxes on sale price + $299 + 2 or 3 days of services.

After placing the order, I received an email from Walmart with Activation instructions. Do we need to activate the Verizao phone after receiving it and is it already activated? Verizon customer care sent me my 1st bill and they already added activation charges.

Can you pay off the phone and cancel before receiving the phone physically?..

Even though my phone was shipped yesterday night. I still haven't received any email from Verizon about all set or number activation

That means I still need to wait for the emai and then pay off and cancel before receiving the phone .?..OR is the way we can check in the Verizon account?

I have a verizon account, I was able to see the device in my account. It also shows the phone number.

Check your account. Add a credit card to your account.

Call the number listed a few posts above, when asked, put in the new phone number. When the automated thing asks why you are calling say 'pay off device"

It will ask if you want to pay with your card ending in: 1234

Say yes.

For me also able to see phone and number in my verizon account. Question is do i still need wait for receiving email about ALL SET from Verizon or i can go and pay off as it was showing in the account. Did you already canceled? Or waiting for phone to receive physically and then cancel.

One more thing your date of order placement and date of receiving the email?
