Got my Verizon iPhone today. added a payment method on my new Verizon account.
dialed 8008374966 and provided the new phone number
Said "pay off device" when asked the reason for calling and follow the prompts.
Fully paid the 299$ for the device with Automated system without talking with a live person.

Then called in and spoke to a live person and canceled the line.

Last time a bunch of us did this, I believe we learned that the clock starts ticking for the Verizon 3 day cancellation when the phone ships. Thus it was recommended to only buy in store and not for shipping. I was able to buy in store, create account, call Verizon to pay in full and then cancel all within 24-36 hours.

If you're waiting 3 days for the shipment I don't see you getting out of the activation fee.

So what is the total price of the iphone after all said and done?

For people with AT&T, is there anyone that's not seeing the installment plan schedule coming up? I got the phone yesterday, but am unable to pay it off yet. I'm not sure if this messed anything up, but I already swapped my phone number back to my Pixel 9. But I did set up the iPhone with my number and make some calls with it before switching back to my old phone.
Do you see under your account?

For everyone who rushed to cancel before receiving the phone:
Is it actually worthy to save $35 by risking unlock-ability of the phone?

Yes to requiring to get a $75 plan, and yes to a 36 months lease. But not to being a trap. The only "trap" is that the device is carrier locked for 60 days.

The lease is $299 over 36 months. There are no device credits, hence you can pay off the balance at any time. With Verizon, if you pay off the phone AND cancel the service within 30 days, you get your $35 activation fee back. You still need to wait 60 days though to use it with another carrier..
So can you break the lease? Then what is the point of them giving you a phone for so cheap if you can break the lease and give them a middle finger?

Received phone today. It was not activated already. Had to to turn on and connect to WiFi for it to activate. Paid off using IVR. Talked to a representative via facebook messenger. She did ask why cancel service! She initially said can't waive any fees but checked again and based on number of days put in a request for waiver. It took a while to connect phone number to the Verizon account and till then it failed. But worked yesterday before delivery.

I feel this company is tryint to scam me. What should I do?I need your help

After I paid the Verizon version iPhone 14 off, activated it and canceled the Verizon line, can I use it with a Xfinity sim for the first two months? And can it still get unlocked automatically after two month even I used a Xfinity sim?

They've done it before for black friday, though I don't think they did it last year with the 15.

This what I did to pay off the device over the phone. I am new to Verizon.1. As soon as the order is shipped by Walmart, Called Verizon 1800 922 02042. Asked the agent for my new phone and account no3. Agent was able to create an account online for me with my e-mail id4. Agent was able to process the payment for the Device over the phone (processed through e-mail).Now I will have to contact them to cancel my account. My phone won't be here until Sunday. I will try to place an order for another device.
Were you able to order an additional device?

When you signed up and had to sign agreements, there should have been a link to download the forms. Those have all the information you need.

Thanks! It's too late for me. I'll probably have to pay the activation fee

This information about having a payment on file is BS. Delay of payment probably has to do with you being a new Verizon customer which many here do not mention. I had to call and talk to an agent to get the phone paid off and disconnected.
I'm not a new Verizon customer. And others that done it this way were not. Having a payment on file allows you to pay it off with a credit card. Else how did you pay? Give the rep your number?
