Got my Verizon iPhone today. added a payment method on my new Verizon account.
dialed 8008374966 and provided the new phone number
Said "pay off device" when asked the reason for calling and follow the prompts.
Fully paid the 299$ for the device with Automated system without talking with a live person.

Then called in and spoke to a live person and canceled the line.

Last time a bunch of us did this, I believe we learned that the clock starts ticking for the Verizon 3 day cancellation when the phone ships. Thus it was recommended to only buy in store and not for shipping. I was able to buy in store, create account, call Verizon to pay in full and then cancel all within 24-36 hours.

If you're waiting 3 days for the shipment I don't see you getting out of the activation fee.

Honestly I don't know, I've only used iPhone, but I don't see why it wouldn't work with an android so long as you can make the transfer yourself. I didn't call to transfer the esim I did it straight from the phone itself
Thats smart!!!
How did you transfer your unlocked phone sim to the locked iPhone?

my experience, brand new verizon customer

ordered the phone on 11/12
received it today
turned it on, activated it, got the phone number

made an account on the myverizonapp and added a credit card
called the phone# in wiki from a different phone.(and followed the steps there)
easy payoff of $299.
Then used the wiki directions to disconnect service, took about 15min
got everything but $11 waived, need to way 10-15 for final bill.
yay!

now to play around with the unlock, or just wait
Same here, ordered 12th, got phone today, activated connecting to wifi successfully. Added card and then called the phone # in wiki from different phone but after saying payoff device it keeps saying transfer to agent or sending sms link. Unable to payoff. Not sure if am missing something.

AT&T customer here. Got an 14 256gb in the mail yesterday, paid off yesterday morning, I got it unlocked today and now gonna order a second one on that same line I added for this deal, hopefully it works the same.

open the box, make a phone call on the new iphone. Then do the eSIm swap youtself if you have another unlock iPhone with you. once you do transfer the eSim, make a phone call on the unlocked phone. log into MyATT, see if the new unlocked phone show up in your new line. Then request unlock as non ATT member at Att unlock website. Once confirmed it's unlocked just restart the phone and check under settings that it has no sim restrictions and you're good to go.
I did exactly the same but it's taking them longer in preparing the second one and hasn't shipped yet … will see how it goes 🤞

do you know if we have to turn it on to activate?

I already got the number from the contract to get the online account

I have access to that info, can I just pay off the device and it will auto unlock or do I have to turn on the phone/go through the set up process to start the 60day timer?

Were you able to get the activation fee refunded? Mine is supposed to show up on Tuesday, but I just got an email from ATT suggesting that it was activated on the purchase date, which would have been the 12th.

Any risk of doing this online with the verizon one over the weekend? Or should I wait until business hours on Monday to begin ?

You're supposed to transfer the eSIM from the new iPhone in this deal to an unlocked iPhone not the other way around. But you're supposed to make sure to make a call so it registers on your account (you can check online after making a call or two). Then you transfer the eSIM to the unlocked iPhone and make a calm or two to make sure it registers on the account.

I'm ordering Saturday so it ships Monday.
I'm not sure how much longer this deal goes for?

Same here, no luck. As someone said before, the juice is not worth the squeeze. The agents are saying there is nothing to payoff on the device except the first month bill + activation charges. Please let me know if you figured out something

there was no trick for me. i did find it odd, it couldnt verify my pin, but then let me say pay off my deivce, and it let me do that. lol. you may have to go into corporate store and pay cash for the device.

im not an expert in any of this. its an easy squeeze so far, only 1 hour or so of time all things said. only repeating what has been said many times in this thread and the other threads on other models.

Appears that contract still not registered in Verizon system. Until it does I will not be able to pay it. That's the reason it is seeing it as paid off.
Just inferred information based on a one call to customer service.

Anyone know how to verify exactly what Verizon is going to charge? I cancelled and paid off within 3 days however my "First Bill" on the website is suggesting I owe $116.99 for the first month. The chat team can't help because the account has been deactivated and told me to go into a Corporate store with id to confirm final charges.

Is your unlocked iPhone on Verizon network?
And could you please tell me or add a link to the exact procedure of transferring a sim from the locked phone to the unlocked one?
