S22 is a better phone than A53.
DOES THIS MEAN THAT THE PHONE HAS TO BE UNLOCKED AND NOT LOCKED TO ANY CARRIER?

Factory unlock is never a requirement as far as I'm aware for any trade-in deal I've considered.

Take photos and even of yourself reseting(blur/hide passwords and other info) it so they can't argue.
In the end I actually don't love my S22 but no good way to return to them with the trade factored in.
