This has been your PSA.
1. Use PayPal to get 7.5% back by logging into your PayPal account and search for promos, select StraightTalk. Will take you directly to StraightTalk site. That's what i did.
2. Chase card has 15% promo but caps at $15 discount, based on other users. I do not have Chase.
3. Purchase iPhone 13 with Silver plan. Must be Silver or higher to get $200 phone discount.
4. Do not select autopay to see PayPal payment option.
5. You can ship to different address if you're gifting it. They just need to understand the terms if they plan to unlock and use elsewhere or just stay with StraightTalk.
6. New phone needs to be activated, through StaightTalk online, for 60-day unlock countdown to begin. Phone does not need to be opened/used.
7. After the 30 plan expires, do not purchase another plan. Use it on WiFi or not at all.
8. After 60 days, phone will automatically unlock for any carrier.
9. Text "UNLOCK" to 611611 to confirm/see countdown.
10. Hope all goes well for us all.

All phones from ST/TW/TF will activate on VZ since they own the company.

What I don't get is why Android folks always come into iphone posts and bitch - no one cares what Android fanboys think about these 'old ass' phones.
I have seen your posts the last couple years and I respect your opinion on smartphones. Is this a good deal for a iphone, I just got a Mac Mini M4 a few days ago, and was thinking of getting an apple smartphone to pair with it. I bought a ipad a few months ago, so I am dipping my feet into Apple Eco-system. Thanks

This Straight Talk deal doesn't require a $35 activation fee. It also has a cheaper service plan overall, and taxes/fees on the plan itself are either included (I didn't look) for Straight Talk while it is NOT included for Verizon Postpaid, so that's another few dollars on top of the $75 plan and $35 activation fee (for customers who are new to Verizon).
If you want to cancel within the first three days of the Walmart iPhone 14 plan, you only get a few days' worth of service and then you have no service. For Straight Talk, you could use the phone the entire 30 days. You do have to pay the full plan for Straight Talk, so a full $45. There is no partial refund. If you cancel within the first three days of the Walmart deal, your total plan cost can be less than $45.
It is a hassle and takes time to pay off the device and cancel the plan, then wait a few days before you can pay off the prorated plan. If you miss the 3-day window for canceling the plan, or if the rep you get to cancel the plan tries to talk around what you are asking and sets up the plan to cancel at the end of the month, it might be the full >$100 total charge for plan/activation/taxes that you end up owing.
Read the stories on the SD thread for the Walmart deal, some people are running into issues.
If you really want an iPhone 14 for the features that the phone has that aren't on the 13, go for the Walmart deal. There are just more potential pitfalls in getting all the steps in the correct sequence, and there's some luck involved in the timing being correct, and you could end up paying a lot more for the plan than the $45 plan for Straight Talk for the iPhone 13. The postpaid deals are just more straightforward.
