All current Tracfone , Straight Talk, Total Wireless, Simple Mobile ONLY operates and activates on the Verizon Network exclusively. That's cause Verizon bought all of them. So any new phone will unlock in 60 days from ALL of them.

$262 otd to California. After reading 25 pages, here's my summary:

1. Use PayPal to get 7.5% back by logging into your PayPal account and search for promos, select StraightTalk. Will take you directly to StraightTalk site. That's what i did.
2. Chase card has 15% promo but caps at $15 discount, based on other users. I do not have Chase.
3. Purchase iPhone 13 with Silver plan. Must be Silver or higher to get $200 phone discount.
4. Do not select autopay to see PayPal payment option.
5. You can ship to different address if you're gifting it. They just need to understand the terms if they plan to unlock and use elsewhere or just stay with StraightTalk.
6. New phone needs to be activated, through StaightTalk online, for 60-day unlock countdown to begin. Phone does not need to be opened/used.
7. After the 30 plan expires, do not purchase another plan. Use it on WiFi or not at all.
8. After 60 days, phone will automatically unlock for any carrier.
9. Text "UNLOCK" to 611611 to confirm/see countdown.
10. Hope all goes well for us all.

You don't need to do anything. It should get unlocked after 60 days. Some rare case it didn't get unlocked, go https://www.tfwunlockpolicy.com/wps/portal/ and give the imei (and the phone number you got) and it will let you "reprocess" the unlock request online, if you still can't get it unlocked, you just call the phone number on that web page and they will unlock it for you. With that said, most time it will get unlocked automatically and you don't need to do anything.

Talking on phone with any Tracfone family agents, including in Straight Talk, is usually useless.

Instead, before you give up and return your order, try to chat with a few agents in chat to see if they can activate your service by the IMEI of the iPhone 13, without telling your story about Total or the pin.

Just ask them to activate as Straight Talk for you. If the 1st chat cannot, disconnect and try again.

Sending back often create more pain because this can give you a hard time getting your money back.

Easier said than done. Since this I've talked to my 3rd person already. Once I mentioned I didn't receive a pin, and they just don't know what to do. One of them hung up on me lmao. I tell them I paid for it and should be on my account and they just keep saying I should be getting a pin. I know Verizon owns them, wondering if I can call Verizon themselves?

Verizon has nothing to do with their day to day operation. When you tried to activate on Total you lost the Straight Talk plan. Either return (you will only receive cost of phone, no refunds on plan) or keep trying.
If phone is now on Total you will have to buy a Total monthly plan to start unlock clock.

No so the person before was able to switch it back to straight talk. I know because the number is active on straight talk website. It just won't let me log in or create and account. When I try to someone real they get confused and just want me to pay for another month. Also how can they not refund me the plan? That sounds like robbery

There have never been refunds for service plans - only phone itself.
Info on refunds is on the website and has been policy for years.

I just experienced the same pain as yours. I spent 1 hour and 20 min to talk to two agents over the phone. Finally, the second agent was able to add my plan back to my phone and the phone is now activated. You have to give them your order number and let them verify that you indeed purchase the phone with 1 month service as a bundle with ST.

But you tried to activate on Total first right? That messed up the system and you're going to need higher level support to get it fixed - not the usual phone rep.

I just got phone an hour ago. I updated to 18.1 and went great. I can't get face id to work. I will go on youtube to research how to fix it.

I did put sim card in , and I couldn't get it to work. I called with different phone to straight talk and give them info from red card and it took a few minutes and in a few minutes I was up and running. And then did UNLOCK and it gave Jan 15th unlock date.

First Iphone in a while, so I'm very confused BUT I did expect to be confused, so I will chill out and work on it a little later. Hope you guys are getting it working.

Sims are registered to each phone & it's not recommended to swap.
Straight Talk number likely won't qualify for deal to port to Total, they're basically the same company, number needs to be from outside of TF/ST.

I just received the phone package. The phone looked to be sealed by Total by Verizon or Straighttalk(the seal tape cover the pouch), instead of Apple. The sender is "CEVA CLS RETURNS/TRACFONE" from state IN. Is it normal for a new iPhone from Straighttalk? I hope this is not a refurbished/returned item.
