It is really easy to clear the direct deposit requirements because Paypal and Zelle inbound transfers count as an EDD. However, DO NOT, and I repeat DO NOT use Zelle to transfer money out. It is very common to be put on a fraud hold if you transfer money out using Zelle. Transfer money out by using a trusted hub account to pull funds. If you don't have a hub account, then wait after the bonus posts then try to do a external transfer.
What is a hub account? A Hub Bank Account is simply a bank account that will make it easy to electronically transfer money into and out of your other accounts. Within your bank account, you can do an electronic funds transfer service that allows you to initiate bank-to-bank transfers (known as ACH transfer).
Their banking system is horrible. Most likely they will flag your account after your first transfer and will block all the money. You won't find an official looking phone number because they have dozens of them. There have been many scams where you get mail posing as Citibank and even their official mails aren't that convincing. I had a hard time getting my money back and going back and forth with them. I closed my account as soon as I got it back. Never again

Citibank have denied my claim against Expedia . I lost 5K then a year later found out that hotel refunded them the money then Expedia refunded. . They are not customer centric . Be aware . I'll get this deal just to take advantage of them .
On the website it says:
Your bonus will be deposited as a credit to your open, eligible checking account within 30 days after the end of the 90-calendar day qualification period.
I was under the impression that you have to wait 90 days to get a bonus credited to your account. I planned to make 2 deposits closer to the end of the 90 days period. Am I not understanding this correctly?
They will wait 90 days for you to complete the requirement, but if complete before they 90 days, then they will payout. I did the 6k for $450. If I would've deposit less, then I would've to wait 90 days, but I sent the maximum and completed the requirement.
I've been bank churning for a decade and the one bank that consistently plays games with payouts is Citi. You can't even call in to get resolution, you're forced to go into the branch and the waits are an added hassle. Giant building with 1 banker. Since I've exhausted promos from other banks this year, I'm inclined to give this a shot, $450 is a good payout assuming there isn't nickle and dime fees and minimum requirements. Churner beware.

Long time citi user with multiple relationships. Never had any issues except for occasional customer service call annoyances.

Opened a savings account with Citi together with my credit card account. Got locked out of online access. Called their horrible offshore customer service and they insisted I verify my identity with an ATM card# that I never requested and which they never sent me. Took me 2 weeks and multiple calls to get logged in. Never again Citi.
