I always buy cheap crap like this and throw it in a drawer for that one day I will find a use for it.

The new me is no longer hoarding slickdeals just because.

Pretty decent option to swap into a PS3 if you want.

Trying to think of a use for this good deal while there are micro SD's out there with higher capacity for around the save price. Anyone with any ideas?

Unless planning to use this as a fast usb external drive, save your money for something with more capacity.

MicroSD and thumb drives tend to be pretty unreliable as boot drives in the long-term. My 3D printer is driven by an older Rpi that stays powered on 24/7 because the SD cards keep getting corrupted and it feels like I'm rolling the dice to have to reflash it each time I power it down. I'm not sure a $10 SSD will be any better, but at this price I'm tempted to give it a whirl.

This makes a great boot driver for any older system, laptop or otherwise, really. I have a 512gb teamgroup SSD in my homelab server; that was when SSD's were still dirt cheap so it cost me like 20 bucks on Amazon. But if I were in need of something like that right now, I'd totally buy this. For that matter, I'm tempted to grab one as a spare. For 10 bucks it's hard to go wrong.

This will be fine for boot drives for older systems, Home lab hosts, bench machines, etc. Better than USB drives, as long as you have an open SATA for it.

I've been on this website way too long but that unlocked some weird memory, when we all thought $1 per GB was a good deal, 11 years ago there was this
