Buy again today so hopefully it'll go down another $100 by sunday.
RAM is good. Panel is OK.

Only two thunderbolt ports and one usb port? And no other NVMe slots? Meh. It's a 14" laptop but still 3.5 lbs?

The problem I have in this price range is that for a bit more money I could get one with some gaming chops. I dunno. Not terrible, but not compelling to me.

Seems like a good deal. Hard to find deals on 14" laptops around/for Black Friday. Seems like everyone is trying to offer deals on 15.6" or 16".
Here are links to three recent posts for this same laptop:

Overall people seem to think this is a great laptop but lacks a bit on the number of ports. I'm seriously considering this one for an 8th grader with hopes it will last him through high school

This doesn't look like the 2-in-1 version. Does it lie flat (open 180 degrees) or does it open only about 135 degrees?

Also, does it support a stylus?

I couldn't find any of this information at https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp...-9j1j1av-1

Thanks!

Yeah noticed that too, the bigger 15/16's are often cheaper than an equivalent 14. Then I tried a bunch of laptops at Best Buy and found 14 is definitely the sweet spot.

This is not the "Flip" version you are thinking of. The "Flip" model number is "fh0013dx" with Intel CPU and only 16GB Ram. Currently it is 1199.99 on Best Buy website.

Thats true. I was interested in knowing how far back the lid opens with respect to the base, i.e. 90-deg, 135-deg or 180-deg. Only the flip version will open 360-deg. Thanks!

My experience too. Looks like 14-inch is the popular size. I hope the 14" Spectre with 32GB RAM and 2TB drive is available around $1000, though I seriously doubt it! Frown

Perfect laptop minus my in-store experience with the touch screen/monitor. Every touch seemed to move the screen physically, hinge felt very weak / loose.
