I have this, probably just best to get a model with an auto mode unless you are fine turning it on and off everytime

It's probably fine if you want it for odors. For virus-destroying you want a real HEPA unit. I own a BlueAir - bought before the pandemic - and it's… fine. Filters are overpriced. It works. Easy to change the filter. I wish I had known it was a fake HEPA. There are quieter units that are more effective for a pretty low price.

It's actually a fine filter. It depends on your use case. But most likely you have a room that you want to purify the air in, and you can do that very slowly with a true HEPA filter, because the filter is very fine and by consequence it's clean air delivery rate will be relatively low. Conversely, you can get a non HEPA filter that removes 50% of the stuff but cycles the air 4-5 times faster and so actually results in lower concentrations faster of many (and really nearly all) contaminants. Are HEPA filters good? Yes. Are small HEPA air filters best for whole room purification? No, in almost every case. There are several YouTube videos about this as well, but in short anything with a high CADR is fine.

It •is• HEPA. HEPASilent is just a marketing term. It's HEPA that they've made less noisy. Still HEPA.

Not HEPA, similar = same. Not saying it isn't effective but how about just naming it something completely different if it isn't HEPA
