decent price but be aware that you will not get a warranty with this. If it breaks in 2 months you're SOL. Milwaukee now asks for receipts for warranty requests and this is not an authorized vendor. Walmart is not selling this item, this is sold on the marketplace by a 3rd party

"Sold by: Discount Bargain Deals"

3rd party seller? Sketchiness level: 8/10..

Fakes are out there.. and even assuming this is genuine, 3rd party seller also potentially means no warranty support from Milwaukee if you need it..

edit:

Do you have any personal experience using the Allstate warranty? I just assume with 3rd party warranties have some gotcha or PITA process to make a claim.

I had Allstate through Squaretrade, and when a thin green vertical line popped up on my TV, they only had me send a picture before they ordered me the newer model. I was also able to keep the old one to throw in the spare room. This was for a Sony TV worth almost $3000 as well.

That's not entirely true, or YMMV at best. If you don't have a receipt, they back date the warranty to date of manufacturing which is on all tools and batteries.

I've done a few warranty claims (mostly those notorious M12 6Ah batteries), and was never asked for a receipt. But, they were all within the 3 year window based on their serial number and date.

When you get heavily discounted tools like this, you're basically giving up a significant chunk of your warranty by default because these tools are most likely a little dated/older stock. And you're right, a buyer can't use a receipt in this case for a warranty claim. But they can still use the date the item was made and make a claim if it's within the the standard 1-5 year warranty Milwaukee has for their products.

That's assuming the one you get is legit. If it's fake, they tell you to kick rocks.. fyi

Well, yeah of course. I think that's pretty obvious, and not really the useful "fyi" you think it is.

The chances of getting a fake tool are significantly lower than getting a fake battery. It takes a lot of time and resources to put together high quality counterfeits. And that's why batteries are heavily targeted by the schemers…. There's little variation between the batteries within a platform, whereas there are sooo many more tools that picking a few tools to replicate or make templates out of likely would have too high of a cost basis to even consider. It happens, and there are fakes outs there, but they're very obvious.

I guess what im saying is, you're not as likely to get a fake tool in this situation. But if you do, and you own and use other Milwaukee - you should be able to sniff out a fake way before a situation for a need to exercise a warranty comes up.
