Looking for a holiday deal on a laptop with unsoldered memory

Hello all:
I'm looking for a deal on a holiday deal on a laptop with unsoldered memory. It seems like everything I look at is soldered in, except perhaps some gaming laptops.
Does anyone have any suggestions on specific laptops (about $400-$600 range) that have removable memory and are somewhat future-proofed and that perform well now and can be upgraded long-term so as to extend their performance into the future. My only real want is a backlit keyboard.
