3Cr13 is about the softest knife steel you can get, but it should sharpen easily. If it got a decent heat treatment it's usable, but if not, and a lot of these cheapy knives don't, it's utter garbage. They are advertising it as having an HRC of 56-59, which is utter BS. 3Cr13 maxes it's hardness out at around 56 HRC if it gets a most excellent heat treatment. You can do much better spending $10 at Walmart for one of the axis lock Ozark Trails knives in far superior D2 semil-stainless tool steel, [walmart.com] especially if the coupon code isn't working on this deal.

There is nothing wrong with a cheap knife, as long as you understand what you are getting. The D2 Ozark Trails knife with the axis lock is getting great reviews and is probably the best dirt cheap folder available right now, if you can find one in stock. Of course, if you jump up to the $20-$25 range, there are far better options. But, this $6 knife should open Amazon packages with the best of them, if that's all you need.

Not sure why the thumbs down. The linked $10 pocket knife at Walmart is well regarded as the best value pocket knife anywhere near the $10 price range
