If you use FrogPilot (works best for GM cars), it makes the driving experience much more pleasant on long highway drives.
There is a mode where the lateral control will keep you in the lane while you can still use the accelerator/brake or one-pedal. If you have an older model, it can still do it but you'll need what's called a "comma pedal" to make it work.

I just sold my Mustang Mach E with Blue Cruise and got a Chevy Equinox with Super a cruise which is a very lame system. Thinking of getting this to see if I can go back to the quality of Blue Cruise.
Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank ChickenChow
1. You enable Comma (just turning on factory cruise mode while device is plugged in), it starts keeping you in the center of the lane at any speed.
2. It sees a car in front, it does nothing extra but since cruise is enabled, the Mazda radar cruise automatically matches the speed of the front vehicle (as long as it's lower than your set speed)
3. If there's no vehicle in front & you've set cruise speed to 75, Comma just keeps you in the lane and business as usual. Now, if you enter a zone with 55 speed limit, Comma can set the max speed limit for that area to 55 automatically (it's as if you lowered the cruise speed) - This feature requires other popular branch code - FrogPilot or SunnyPilot.
4. If you want to switch lane, you just put turn signal and Comma can use car's factory blind spot monitoring alert to identify if you have an obstruction and switch lane for you. You can also set it so that you need to nudge the steering once before it initiates the lane change. This might also require SP or FP.
5. Comma also works on streets without any lane markings. It essentially uses a driving model that has been trained with actual driving videos (pretty much what Tesla FSD switched to recently) and tries to mimic what an actual user will do in that scenario.
6. You can also individually set the lane keep so that you are actually hitting gas & brake (vs adaptive cruise) and Comma will just keep steering for you. Even if you press brake, it doesn't disengage. This also requires FP or SP.
7. Mazda has limit on how much torque you can put on steering. So, Comma can't really do turns at city road intersections. It can only keep you at lane. It identifies the upcoming turns and if it knows it can't make it, it will warn you.
8. Experimental modes aren't supported in Mazda since it can't take over Brake or Pedal directly. Hence, you won't get some features like auto stop at Stop signs/red signals.
9. There are ways to load offline maps in SP (afaik) which assists the device with road speed limits etc. You don't necessarily have to pay for Comma Prime.
10. It does really well even during night times & heavy rain as far as I know.
The devices gives enough info on the screen to let you know what exactly is it going to do but you're always in control with a little bit more pressure. Also, if you stop looking at the road or get distracted in any way, the device will know and will start alerting loudly before attempting a safe stop. You can join their discord group that has #mazda channel. Pretty much everybody drives CX-5 there.
Hope this helps!
I think the $24 subscription also gives you a sim card with data services + Comma Prime navigation. You can just pay $8 if you use your own SIM. Regardless, you don't need either to use the unit and there are forks available which allow loading of offline maps that the unit can use for it's purposes.
