I've put 70,000 miles on a car with Comma (maybe 50k with Comma engaged). I'd pay full price without thinking twice. Comma really shines on long drives.

For the Chevy Bolt EV & EUV Premiere trim with ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control), it can keep you in the lanes and steer up to a certain degree. It greatly upgrades the stock ACC since the LKAS (lane keep assist system) just ping pongs you between the lane.

If you use FrogPilot (works best for GM cars), it makes the driving experience much more pleasant on long highway drives.

There is a mode where the lateral control will keep you in the lane while you can still use the accelerator/brake or one-pedal. If you have an older model, it can still do it but you'll need what's called a "comma pedal" to make it work.

Not sure about compatability in the future for the Benz, but considering BMW wants a subscription for the heated seats, I would say that's probably for sure off the table.

This is new to me. Didn't know about this product so haven't done any research. Is there any point in getting this if your car already has adaptive cruise control and lane centering. I have a 2020 Hyundai Kona. It's the highest trim and so already has those features. My car seems to be supported, but I'm unsure of what this might add.

I'm trying to understand what the heck this is? It seems like it's just a camera, does it do more?
It's hardware that runs an open source competitor to Tesla Autopilot called openpilot: https://comma.ai/openpilot

If your car is one of the hundreds they support, you plug it into your car and it will essentially drive your car for you to a certain extent.

It is run by a well known computer programmer and former hacker: https://wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Hotz

Been using Comma 3x on a 2020 Kia Niro and works great. I would spend this much on a heartbeat for another. On fact I'm looking at replacement vehicles and whatever I get will need to have Comma compatible.

Thank you so very much. From my learnin' so far, it seems like different forks are better suited to different makes/models so I am happy you mentioned sunnypilot for this Niro. Anyways, I've gone ahead and ordered it, looking forward to install and trying this out!)
I also have this on a 2020 Niro PHEV. Works great, steering will disengage under 32mph, but it will keep the adaptive cruise running under that speed. On highway is game changing.

Does Comma AI handle city streets like Tesla FSD?
No, highway only

I wonder if your downvotes are people that haven't tried tesla fsd... Tesla fsd is sketch. I had it last month free, for the second month and it feels like a novice driver.
Or it could be from other Tesla owners that have tried FSD and have had a great experience with it, like most Tesla owners do. Logic dictates that if most people did not like FSD, they wouldn't be able to charge $8k for it or have such a high number of subscribers.

If compatible with your car, it makes Tesla technology look like it's from the '90s
That's nowhere near even close to being a true statement... I owned a Bolt with a Comma.AI before owing my Tesla with FSD. I would recommend anyone buy the comma.ai, it is a great product, def a must buy for compatible cars, and its open source to boot! But to say it makes Tesla tech look like it's from the 90's could be nowhere farther from reality.

Tesla FSD will brake for stop lights, stop signs, it provides enough torque to the steering wheel to never have to put your hands on the wheel, it will even turn from a dead stop. It also turns on your turn signals, has active avoidance, and many other things that Comma.AI does not have.

I am not sure if you are just making things up and are a fanboi, but I have no clue where you even came up with your blatantly false statement.

As a curious party who currently doesn't drive enough to even consider this it's interesting how many positive people are about it in this thread. My guess would have been that it's fiddly and dangerous. Seems likely I'm wrong about that.

I am sorry how this a serious product? when Tesla's FSD is mocked for being a failure with lots more sensors and hardware.

The future of self driving is with LIDARs clearly. Just see how well the vacuum and mops robots work. e.g, roborock, dreame, etc.

This is a toy and should be treated as such.
This uses the cars sensors and requires LIDAR/Active Cruise to work I believe, your statement shows you've done 0 research.
