The reviews on the sellers website seem to be mostly fake reviews. One of 17 looks real. That sort of thing makes a potential good deal like this smell really bad.

Yeah really not sure on these Haven bikes. Their website's MSRP is really high. The bikes don't have features to compete in the over $1k price range that they claim as list price.

this actually looks like a decent deal for a 20" tire bike, but once that battery dies you dont really have anywhere else to mount a replacement. i'd pass but only bc i have a jetson bolt with an extra battery

It looks like a specific proprietary battery in the seat post, just search online ebay for replacement battery that fit that kind of profile, and likely you'll have a hard time. The company will likely be out of business so you can't get replacement batteries from them, this is the general type of warning for online ebike sellers that haven't been around for a few years.

350W 36V hub motor and 16mph max speed. No suspension and regular mechanical brakes. Seems like it's priced accordingly at $300 IMO

Pretty sure they're owned by Kent. I bought the univega rover rm29 a couple weeks ago for $228 and have been head over heels in love with it.

As with all things, you get what you pay for, this bike seems pretty low spec, but if you're buying it for your kid they'll love it. Shame the tires aren't wider, most 20" fat tires can be upgraded to shinko moto/dirt 16x3. This you could maybe do thinner, but won't fit the popular 16x3

This is actually a pretty decent deal.
The beauty of this bike is that it's a 7 speed so you can actually pedal this like normal bike.
If you ever try to pedal a single speed e-bike, you know it's virtually impossible.
36v 11.6ah battery should get you around 25 miles if you pedal assist the entire way.
I have a smaller e-bike with 48v 7.5ah battery and that can do over 20 miles pedal assist only.
The amazing part is that it only weight 45lbs compared to my 16" inch E-bike that weights 58lbs.
The battery I'm not so concern about because I can just strap a battery to the bar or something.
If the black was available I'll be really interested but I just bought an 14" E-bike with a 48v 20ah battery. This sucker will get me like 50 miles.

If I didn't have an E-bike at all, I would get one.
Looks solidly built and the battery size is not bad.
This is a bike where you can take out to the trail and actually pedal and once you're tired, let the power take over.

Not to hijack this post, but for anyone interested in a sleeker-looking 700c ebike than this one (but admittedly weaker 250W motor, but 20 MPH max) for $280, there's the Vitesse Flare [mendhambikes.com] in a gorgeous Forest Green using the code VITESSEBIKE. If green isn't your cup of tea (or favorite color like mine), they have other variants in other colors/styles (see the previous Slickdeal for reference or just search "Vitesse" or the Electric Bikes [mendhambikes.com] tab under discounts on the site). However, the Flare comes with way better brakes than the Signal/Wave (disc brakes vs. V-brakes, respectively) despite all three being the same price, so the Flare is a better buy over those for that alone.

These were $350 a couple weeks ago, but even cheaper now with the same code as then! I still don't fully trust Mendham, so very eager to hear from folks who have actual success stories on this bike and not gamed reviews.

Is this bike safe, or will it blow up on me when I charge it?

Go to the manf Web site. USA bike. Not a cheap Asian Ebike.
