Am I crazy or is the noise cancellation not that good? Maybe I expected too much because that aspect was over hyped. High pitched noises go right through.

It does sound good and is very comfortable so I will probably keep it
Noise cancellation is not that good. Im gonna return mine.

if you have a bigger head I've read that the xm5's are better, but they lose the ability to fold and are not as durable compared to the xm4.

It's very light. And sound is very good. I love these better than Apple's and Sony's.

These vs Sony WH-1000XM5 vs Beats Studio Pro ?
I like the Sony's form factor better than Bose. Beats are not in the same league.

Does anyone have the soft case? I'm curious as to how much protection it provides.

Just keep in mind this could cause hearing issues long term. Stopped using noise cancellation headphones due to having had to use them for years for work.

Is this online only or at warehouse too? Have to do 24+ hours of flying starting Wednesday evening, would be nice to snag these before those flights startEdit: mailer makes it look like a warehouse deal, "online price may vary"
I think the online price will be the same, as the website is showing Shipping & Handling $0. Online price is $319.99 and the sale will be $150 off = $$169.99, same as the flyer. It's probably too late for online order. Best to go in store on Wednesday morning, or get now and do price adjustment like everyone has suggested.

i had a beats studio pro and then bought this one refurbished from eBay (sold by Bose). Arrived yesterday, looks just new, absolutely no sign of uses. Sound is much better than Beats SP, light weight and has better noise cancellation. I was listening to music for almost 2 Hrs and did not feel any pain on my ears. It feels really comfortable and light weight. I have not tried the expensive Apple ear phones but for the price I would go with Bose rather than beats (just from my observations) without getting into technicality..
I remember someone did a teardown of the Beats and found actual weights in them. They put them in there just to make them feel "more premium". Pure marketing

So I bought this exact deal refurbished in green. I previously owned AirPods Max and sold them off.

These Bose headphones are far more comfortable, especially wearing for long periods. The sound quality is about the same. I would also argue that the noise cancellation that These offer are superior to the AirPodsMax

Long story short as an audio professional I believe these to be an incredible value for the price. 9/10. Only because I had to tweak the bass and treble way up. Otherwise pretty much perfect

New from Costco for $169.00 or refurb from Bose for $143.00?

Costco- New, Black only, soft case
Bose- Like new, choice of colors, hard case, $26.00 less

Love to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance.
I went for the refurb to save some money and pick a color over black. I hope I made the right choice and I'll have no issues with them. They should arrive in time for me to check them out and return and get the Costco ones if needed. I do like that Costco return policy/warranty, although I've never used it for anything.

The refurb ones from Bose don't show hard cases but the soft ones in their pictures of what's included. Have others gotten hard cases?

Personally I'd prefer getting these new from Costco (if there ever is an issue Costco will make it right) and buying a used hard case on eBay vs used refurbished headphones from Bose with *maybe a new hard case.

Refurbs come with hard cases since they are the standard Bose item. The Costco SC Bose is technically a different. Costco can sell it for less but to differentiate and avoid the price match from Bose direct and other sellers like Best Buy/Target/Walmart, they don't include the hard case. For example, Bose direct new (not refurbed) was $199 recently. Costco can sell these for $169.

I mean if you really want you can do the "Costco leasing" that some "frugal lifehackers" advocate for but I personally find it slimy.

But the hard case is a big advantage, as you said, if taking it traveling versus just using it in an office type setting.
