1. Install Steam on your PC (PC requirements below)
2. Create a Steam account.
3. Purchase Half-Life: Alyx from the Steam store, and add SteamVR to your account for free.
4. Install Half-Life: Alyx and Steam VR. Preferably on an SSD.
5. Install the Steam Link app on your Quest 3. It can be found on the Quest store.
6. Open the app, and follow the instructions. Make sure your PC and headset are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, and that this network is 5ghz, and preferably wired to your PC.
A. Alternatively, if your network set-up is not good enough, purchase a Link Cable. This needs to be a USB 3.0 cable, with a USB-C connector on at least one side. If your motherboard has a USB-C port, then it's recommended to use a USB-C to USB-C cable.
B. If you choose to go wired, then it is not necessary to install the Steam Link app on your headset. You will, however, need to install the Oculus app from https://www.oculus.com/download\_...6955407037
C. Install the app, plug in your headset, and select "Link" in the headset's main menu.
D. From there, open SteamVR via the Steam library, and then open Half-Life: Alyx.
7. If you are continuing with Steam Link, then all you need to do is open Half-Life: Alyx, as SteamVR is opened automatically when you connect to your PC.
As for PC requirements, you can check the Steam Store page of any game, and scrolling to the bottom of the page (above the reviews) will tell you all of the minimum and recommended specs, as well as how large the game is in terms of storage requirements.
For Half-Life: Alyx specifically, the minimum requirements are:
* Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
* **OS:** Windows 10
* **Processor:** Core i5-7500 / Ryzen 5 1600
* **Memory:** 12 GB RAM
* **Graphics:** GTX 1060 / RX 580 - 6GB VRAM
Though, for a good experience, I would recommend a 3000 series GPU or equivalent, and at least a 9th Gen CPU or equivalent. PCVR is an expensive hobby, simply due to the fact that it's extremely graphically intensive for the majority of experiences. Dependent on what PC specs you already have.
As a result of most experiences being graphically intensive, Steam games cannot be installed directly on the headset, as the on-board processor would not be able to run them.
Oh Alyx. Why did you have to be so damn good! This game is amazing and pretty much set the bar so high I haven't played anything else that has come close. This is a great deal and well worth it!

Steam Link works and it's free. I've had better results with virtual desktop though as far as wireless streaming from the PC. The closer the PC and headset are to the router, the better off you'll be.

If you have a decent computer, and relatively fast WiFi, no is super easy. Theres three easy ways, that I'm aware of, to wirelessly connect to your computer. I'm using the steam vr version now, sometimes I have issue when to steam Home Screen gets stuck and won't load when I turn it on, but I reload and it works. My wifi speed isn't the best, but it's from 2017, and it time to upgrade
