4GB RAM is ok for a lower end Android phone like the A15. It is a 2024 phone so it will get at 4 years update from Samsung.
There are several tips discussed on other SD threads about how to "speed up" these phones (uninstalling unused apps, turning animation off in developer mode and setting RAMplus to zero).
The A15 is probably fine as a back up phone and you are not using multiple apps at the same time. At this low price on straight talk and unlock in 60 days, it is a good deal if you need a back up phone for cheap.

deal is long gone, sharing here to explain for other people

June 12-Oct 13 the free straight talk phone was the Moto G Power 2024 edition if you bought 1 month of silver service. Brand new phone (announced late March 2024) on the market, so new that some phones were not auto unlocking in August (60 days after) for Straight Talk forgot to install the unlock server on their end and thus people had complaints for their phones were not auto unlocking as they should. But by early September Straight Talk had fix this and phones were auto unlocking after 60 days again. My personal phone that I bought right before the sale ended should be unlocking in 32 days *so cross my fingers* (took a week and a half to ship the device, this is relevant for I am traveling in christmas so I need internet while traveling)

New Phone deal is the Samsung A15 5g above. Deal is good till Jan 5, 2025 aka a different 3 month period of this will be the straight talk phone on sale, free after 1 month service.

The A15 has less ram, and makes a horrible T-Mobile phone for it has the verizon 5g bands but not both of the two the 5g frequency bands T-Mobile uses (4g should still work though, and it has one of the two main 5g bands.) Frequency Bands for AT&T it has some of the 5g and 4g bands but not all that carrier uses, but also AT&T has a white list problem where only certain phone models work on AT&T and I do not know if this phone works on AT&T due to that whitelist or not.

Good Luck

what apps do you use simultaneously? I bought a bunch of the Samsungss this year for cheap and they are all solid: A14, A15, A23 with no lag. I'll probably grab a free A35 too as it has a better camera than those mentioned and same as A54.

The specs of this phone are confusing. StraightTalk website says HelioG99, 128GB, 4GB.
GSMArena says Mediatek Dimensity 6100+, 128GB, 4/6/8GB device.
Samsung USA website is even worse .. no mention of processor. (just says octa core processor).

Unless I am missing anything.
Dimensity 6100+ is even slower for gaming then Helio G99. Truly bottom of the barrel.

True, that is why I am trying to find out the correct specs for this device from people who have already ordered and received the devices.

Picked up a A15 from a different deal (tracfone). Any recommendations for a good case?

Searched Cyrill and Caseology, but they don't have one for it. Amazon has a bunch from 3rd parties.

Picked up two A15 for $25 + tax this afternoon. I was surprised I was still able to purchase the second one for free (+$10 discounted plan) - I had added one A15 to my cart last night, not sure if that was why.

I placed my order this afternoon. Having activated lines for 2 of the iPhone 13 deals already, my price was $30.00 for 2 Samsung A15's. Within two hours, I received an email saying my order was canceled. It appears this deal is no longer available; they have fixed their system so you cannot get the discount if you have ordered from them in the past.

You were cancelled because they have a limit of 2 discounted phones per account. The deal is still available on website but you will need a different account to order.
(The same deal is also advertised for in store purchase/activation at Walmart, check local inventory).
