Yes, you can sync from Microsoft to Apple TV through MA.

Make a MA account, under settings you can manage retailers and link your apple TV account. Do so with Amazon, Microsoft, Vudu, and whoever else. You can now buy from any linked retailer and they all share a common library.

Not all studios agree to share over MA and those you buy you just have to remember where you purchased from and view only from that retailer.

I somehow hadn't heard of MoviesAnywhere before this post. I bought this (and subsequently the Hobbit collection as well), created an MA account, connected my Apple and Microsoft accounts, and all of the movies are available on my Apple TV now.

Definitely works.

Having never used movies anywhere, can someone enlighten me? If I purchase here, can I sync this to my Apple TV library?

Edit, OP updated the post to no longer have movies anywhere in the title. Not listed on product page. But they're confirming it is working as MA compatible.

If you have even a half way decent setup, these are a must have on disc imo!
You will not get the full benefit of 4k this way especially on the audio side, major downgrade!

For me, every time these films got upgraded in resolution (ie. DVD to 1080p, then 1080p to 4k), it was like watching LOTR for the first time all over again. New details of the film popped up that I missed from prior resolutions, and being a LOTR nerd, it was incredible. If you're thinking, "I don't need the 4k UHD, I've already got it on Blu-ray or HD digital", I'd recommend spending the $18 for 4k, you'll be pleasantly surprised, especially if you're a LOTR enthusiast.

Probably true but my sound bar kind of sucks anyway.

How is this different from the 4K blu ray disc? Just missing the extras? Or is the quality significantly better on the UHD discs?

I don't see where it says: MA compatible.
Can somebody confirm.

I would NOT trust Microsoft to work with MoviesAnywhere unless somebody can confirm it with this specific listing.

Earlier this year I bought Dune (part 1) from Microsoft with the intention of sharing it on MoviesAnywhere and watching it with the Apple TV+ app on our Android TV. Despite the Dune listing prominently showing a MoviesAnywhere logo, the transfer didn't work, and we ended up buying it from Apple instead. Microsoft couldn't be reached, but PayPal refunded the purchase.

We're LOTR fans and I would jump on this deal if I knew it could be transferred with MoviesAnywhere. But this LOTR listing does NOT list MoviesAnywhere (which the Dune listing did). I take that as a clue NOT to expect it to work.

Sometimes the sync doesn't work and you have to disconnect and reconnect the account. I have had to do this multiple times with purchases. I'd also recommend reaching out to Movies Anywhere support when you have a problem. They've been very responsive to me and even helped move/sync some Disney movies that were redeemed on the wrong account.

Thank you for the tips. I did the re-connect and re-sync several times back then, and other movies we had bought elsewhere worked fine with MoviesAnywhere. After a few hours we decided we wanted to spend our night watching Dune rather than battling Microsoft. It is worth pointing out that Microsoft specifically does NOT offer support or refund on digital content.

They are MA, look at the individual movies.

Individual paid movies are ma but the package is not, I bought a different set of movies and they didn't show up. Thanks but I'll pass.

$32.99 (maybe just for game pass members?) For all 6 movies if you want the Hobbit movies. I know some people like to pretend they don't exist but they are better if you force yourself not to compare them to LOTR and what could have been.
