65 to 75 is a pretty big visual jump
If staying with 65" I would step to the Hisense U8 for $899
Much higher performing TV

But for movie watching in a light controlled room..I completely agree with you
I have both QD-OLED( Sony A95L) and a few mini LED Tv's( Hisesne, Samsung)
As far as LCD..I havent seen this Panasonic...but the raw numbers on rtings.com dont paint a very good picture at all
if staying LCD I would buy the much higher performing Hisense U8 or belly up for the Samsung QN90C , though some people are getting for as low at $600( open box)
Or the Sony X93L or X90L
But its really had to beat an LCD that can do 2500-3000 nits for some situations/viewing environments
Now that they have blooming a LOT more under control I will say I enjoy a good LCD a lot more than I used to
A better comparison would be the Samsung QN90C in a 65" that some people are getting for $600

This is such a great point: with natural light (wherever it's coming from from) - glare from it will takeaway from 100 or even 90% enjoyment.
No wonder my predispostion for watching TV in dark or darker environments (even my cell phone background uses dark themes) - is much more enjoyable even with my 2013 Panny Plasma.
Or do I misunderstand the Samsung's alphabet soup?

Time will tell if these are as good. Personally I'd spend a couple hundred more on an OLED display. But now I'm just starting an argument with the Panasonic People.
We upgraded to Sony 75" but that 55" Panasonic plasma TV still in use today, the colors, the depth and picture quality is still the same as it was on the first day.
I didn't know the Panasonic still in business, I know plasma used to get hot, use more electricity and all, but compared to LED the picture quality and colors much better.
Panasonic should have improvised the plasma technology instead of folding it out, I still like that TV
