i have this on Switch and it is an awesome (new) version of the game. Beautiful pixel art and great music, the game is basically the traditional game but with some up to dateness and elements that make it more rogue lite .. very addicting
If it is, maybe it will be okay. The iPhone version has none of the charm of the old game. Also, unless the dev team has fixed the events, they are pretty bad. I played several games and always lost party members and had all sorts of bad things happen to my supplies.
The problem was none of them made sense. Fording a river through 1 foot of water? Supplies washed away and Sarah drowns. No, Sarah was not an infant but an able-bodied adult. I'm not exaggerating. I played the original a lot and the probability calculations behind the events at least made more sense.
This new version looks pretty good and adds more to it than the original had, but it's subjectively a worse game (I've played the original and this iOS version side by side to compare). But maybe the version on Steam is better or they've improved their event algorithms and made other improvements.

This is supposed to be a souped up, reimagined version of the original game. I guess $15 is alright if you're a fan of the original
If not treated it will cost this much to die of the disease
