High quality speakers are robust built and have a higher wattage threshold.
These type of speakers should have at least 100 W power handling.
The price on this on seems way too much too me, as someone who scored.
I just picked up some PSB Image 2B bookshelves with similar stats, but handle 100 watts. They're older but work like new and in 9/10 condition. The guy threw in some Realistic Minimus 11s, all for $75. The best part was the ability to demo at his place.
Don't rule out the secondary market. There are some hidden gems out there if you know what to look for. These Canadian companies make some impressive speakers.

And if you think these are expensive, check out Triangle's Magellan line. [trianglehifi.us]

Topping: Maximum output power: 80W x 2 (4 ohms), 70W x 2 (8 ohms)
BR03: Power Handling 100 W
Recommended Amp Power: 25 - 130 Watts (8ohms)
Thank you
And I agree with the guy who said "High quality speakers are robust built and have a higher wattage threshold." 80 watts on these concern me for the price. A good thing is they weigh 20lb each and have a decent low end at 49 Hz.
At this price, I wouldn't personally buy these. At maybe $350 a pair I might give them a go.

My Elac dbr62 are now retailing for 699 and rated at 120w.
And my front surround (Tannoy vxp 6) speakers have Lab Gruppen plate amps that max out at 1600w. So I understand the appeal of high quality design but not sure wattage is the whole story. A lot of nice speakers are sensitive.
