Are you a car audio guy, by chance? How loud do you really want to push a 6.5inch driver?

It's not about blasting the speakers to their limits
High quality speakers are robust built and have a higher wattage threshold.
These type of speakers should have at least 100 W power handling.

I got the Triangle BR02 deal at $200, very fond of the sound, and has low ear fatigue for long listening. It lacks detail as criticism.

The price on this on seems way too much too me, as someone who scored.

That's a 6.5" mid bass driver and 1" tweeter for all you yanks out there.
I just picked up some PSB Image 2B bookshelves with similar stats, but handle 100 watts. They're older but work like new and in 9/10 condition. The guy threw in some Realistic Minimus 11s, all for $75. The best part was the ability to demo at his place.
Don't rule out the secondary market. There are some hidden gems out there if you know what to look for. These Canadian companies make some impressive speakers.

I have a pair of Triange Borea BR03, BRO2, and the BRA1 Center, and they're GREAT speakers for the money. But the EZ is a higher level line. Using the Borea line as guage for EZ prices is like saying. "As someone who bought a Chevy Malibu for $25K, the sale price on a Chevy Corvette is way to high." It may be for you, but that doesn't make it a bad deal for someone in the market for a Corvette, or a more upscale speaker.

And if you think these are expensive, check out Triangle's Magellan line. [trianglehifi.us]

When dealing with speakers like this 80w to 120w is irrelevant. They will be loud enough for a room where a speaker with a 6.5in driver will work. Really wattage may be one of the least important specs on these things. I looked at their br03's a few times. There have been some deals to be had on those that seemed to make them a good value. It looks like they are somewhere around a 1000 to 1200 new right now in other places. I would love to hear these. I just bought some kef's, or I would be doing a lot more research on these.

Exactly. Wattage specs on Speakers are just a marketing gimmick. Means nothing.

The price is right. It competes with KEF LS05 meta which is at $999. It is a ok speaker but not very popular among audiophile community for this price range. You need an amp with 100w per channel to drive this properly.

Will the Topping PA3 amplifier work with BRo3?
Topping: Maximum output power: 80W x 2 (4 ohms), 70W x 2 (8 ohms)
BR03: Power Handling 100 W

Recommended Amp Power: 25 - 130 Watts (8ohms)

Thank you

That horn tweeter concerns me. Are these bright sounding? How about listener fatigue? I've never done well with most Klipsch speakers for this reason. I read a review on Whathifi and they found them to be "bright and raw" when pointed straight at the listener. If you're sensitive to bright speakers - look elsewhere.

And I agree with the guy who said "High quality speakers are robust built and have a higher wattage threshold." 80 watts on these concern me for the price. A good thing is they weigh 20lb each and have a decent low end at 49 Hz.

At this price, I wouldn't personally buy these. At maybe $350 a pair I might give them a go.

Perhaps you're right. Either way these are well regarded and have a great soundstage.

My Elac dbr62 are now retailing for 699 and rated at 120w.

And my front surround (Tannoy vxp 6) speakers have Lab Gruppen plate amps that max out at 1600w. So I understand the appeal of high quality design but not sure wattage is the whole story. A lot of nice speakers are sensitive.

No, you don't. Not all watts are equal. The Musical Fidelity A1 would likely tame that horn tweeter and make a great pair. 25 watts/channel.

I've heard the Triangle horn speakers and they sound nothing like the Klipsch horns.
