Project Farm did a review on it and it does have the Force Start feature to jump dead batteries.
This is the cheapest I've seen it.

This is a hell of a deal. I bought it for $100 last year and it hasn't let me down once.

The fifth picture on the Amazon listing shows a force start button.

Just got it in earlier today, this thing could not start a cold 7.3 diesel, and 2 stone cold trucks with the override mode. Return is being processed as we speak. Also thing is very light, if you drop it, I'm sure it would break like legos.
The problem with a "dead" battery (10.5 volts and below, and no chimes or any lights will turn on) is that the battery will absorb the jump charge until it partially charges. Then the juice will flow through the rest of the system. I've jumped at least 2 dozen cars over the years. When the volts were below 10.5 volts and none of the lights worked, all i would hear is a click and headlights would be very dim after connection my car to theirs. I left my car battery connected to their dead battery for about 15-20 minutes to partially charge it, then I could jump the car.

The override mode allows the jump starter pack to work when the volts are below the threshold for the battery pack to detect. The "dead" battery is still sucking up all the juice. Same issue. The battery pack might be able to bring up the voltage to allow for a jump start.

That being said, about 5 years ago I picked up a couple of similar battery packs. I wasn't impressed.

Realistically how long would this thing last if you use it only for emergencies? 2 years, 5 years? more?
I bought my 400A one before Covid.
Worked every time but the car battery wasn't dead. Car just wouldnt crank all the way.
Unfortunately, I found out this year it wont work if it's dead. (see my post #125)
Dead = interior lights wont turn on when i open car door

Got it jumped, let car sit idle for a little to charge the battery and drove a little. Turned car off and it wouldn't crank over. Used the 400A and it started so 5yrs it still works.
Then drove it alot more before turning it off.

I used it at least once every year. I have stuff on while the engine was off.

It's light because it's full of lithium ion batteries….you have a bad connections…because this jump pack has started my cat 3126 from completely dead batteries…and that takes a lot more juice than your 7.3 does…..u experienced an anomaly for whatever reason….

It's lighter than my Lokithor J2250, which is supposedly a much weaker jump starter.

Got mine yesterday. I wouldn't say it's "heavy like a brick" though. For the size, I thought it should be heavier than it is.

Where's my scale...........?!

Got yesterday, fully charged it and put a volt meter to it.

1st pic says 0.84 volt (blue light indicator).
2nd pic with the "Force Start" says 16.17 volt (green light indicator).

That Force Start with 16V should theoretically give a dead battery a big kick, but not sure how long the jumper would last. I don't have a dead battery to check.

Here's my question to all who has one! When my Force Start is activated, I would hear an intermittent clicking sound (about every 2 seconds), and the voltage would drop down to the high 15V's (not significant), and then after about 10-15 secs the Force Start would automatically deactivate.
Is this everyone's experience or do I need a replacement? Thanks!

Definitely helps! Let's see others chime in and we should know better if this is normal or not.
Thanks!
