Yea, priority pass sucks. I have access through my Capital One venture card and there are no good lounges from the airports/terminals that I fly in and out of (EWR, PHL, ORD, IAD, TPA, MCO).
I'll never fly into or out of MCO again. Holy smokes is that place a wreck. ATL was my least favorite, they're working to fix it, MCO does not give a F about how terrible the airport is. Bathrooms are broken, disgusting, lines are long, delayed, and parking is a nightmare.

SFB for the win.

$40 to join makes it look like a scam.

Essentially, you are giving away (with 100% certainty) your hard-earned $40 for the possibility of having a probability that you might get a lounge pass within a year (assuming you travel by air).

How about they provide lounge passes and if we like what we get, we might consider paying $40 annual fee?

Nothing too surprising - likely these airports are now run by DEI employees. Welcome to the 3rd world.

I wonder if $40 is worth it.

In response to some of the negativity towards this deal here, I believe there's some missing information (and maybe it's due to this link/site not linking back to the actual Travelzoo site). I believe this delayed flight lounge benefit is just one of the benefits of being a Travelzoo member. (Travelzoo is transitioning to a paid subscription model.) More info below and as with most deals on here, they're good for some but not everyone. https://www.travelzoo.com/help-faq/membership/

Flying out early next year and one of the connecting flight is delayed. Is it too late to join and take advantage of this?

You're not paying $40 for the potential lounge access mentioned in this listing. The $40 is for an annual TravelZoo membership, they are now including this as part of membership.

I can guarantee you don't know what DEI actually is and it's funny that it lives in your head rent free.

That's right, I forgot, so now the cheapest is the Venture X at $395 which can be offset but only on the Cap1 travel portal.
The venture x is basically free after the $300 annual travel credit and 10k annual bonus points worth $100 in travel through capital one's travel portal. I recommend this card for frequent travelers

I have priority pass so this doesn't offer any value for me and even if I didn't I would still pass on paying $40 a year for this benefit. My reasoning is below.
Most delays I experience occur after boarding.
Many US airports don't have priority pass lounges and if they do it could be in a different terminal than the one you depart from.
It's important to be near the departure gate when a flight is delayed as sometimes the delay will be shorter than originally announced.
I'm sure travelzoo knows this benefit won't be widely used.

This is bogus and a waste of $40. The phone number is UK. I couldn't find on the legit TravelZoo.com website.

I'd guess they use Priority Pass. Be aware Priority Pass has contracts with many lounges in out-of-the-way airports, but often not in the big ones, or in some of their terminals.
At EWR, for example, the TravelZoo offer has the Be Relax Spa (Terminal A only), massages and aromatherapy. Water and tea, that is all for food and drinks. Same at Frankfurt, and only in Terminal 1.
At Cleveland Hopkins it is Club CLE, the most minimalistic lounge I have ever seen. Although I have free admission there, I never even go back.
All I am saying is don't expect relaxing food/coffee/drinks at many of the busy airports and their terminals.
If there is one airport you use frequently go to the Travelzoo webpage (link in the OP) and see what is available.
Just a few examples.
Ewr really puts the ewww in Newark 🙃

Is this for a flight that has an unscheduled > 1 hr delay, or a scheduled >1 hr layover?

Honestly I'm cheap and often fly Spirit and Frontier domestically and it's usually good to expect a delay with them. $40 a year isn't a bad price for me for this service

Seems like unexpected delay
