Hello, Instant Pot Chief Internet Enthusiast here. I own 3 of these lol. Read this first:

Then read this:

No-drain "weekday pasta" system: (2 minutes hands-on, 30 minutes total, no stirring, no draining, no babysitting!)

https://www.reddit.com/r/kaidomac...ta_system/

You can make a whole pot of oatmeal or even a single bowl using the pot-in-pot method:

I replaced my Japanese fuzzy-logic rice cooker with an Instant Pot:

https://www.reddit.com/r/instantp...&context=3

Many things use the "zero minute" cooking method: (just bring up to pressure)

I make crack chicken every month:

https://www.adventuresofanurse.co...k-chicken/

Fall-off-the-bone ribs that are then broiled with sauce:

Boba pearls: (bulk or single-serve)

More ideas:

Bread pudding, rice pudding, tapioca pudding

4oz mason jars with Starbucks copycat egg bites, pots de creme, creme brulee, personal-sized cheesecakes

Clone anything from Chipotle or Cafe Rio (shredded meat, rice, beans, etc.)

Soups, chilis, bisques. Loaded baked potato soup, Panera broccoli cheddar soup, Taco Soup (dip with tortilla chips), Cheeseburger soup

Store your leftovers in brick format:

I wonder what's the difference with the Target one which doesn't have "Duo" in the title? It seems that's a same one which is also $10 cheaper during promotion.

These things used to be overengineered tanks, I love mine, but I know they got bought by private equity and not sure what the outcome has been of that.
Did the quality drop? Are there certain models i should target? I was thinking of getting one as a gift and maybe a larger one for my family.

Don't know anyone who has used I.P. PRO that would go back to DUO. Especially if used often. $25 saved for a stripped down model? . Earlier today the 8 qt PLUS version of PRO was briefly $85.

8 qt vs 6 qt: 6 qt models have a maximum soup capacity of 4 quarts and won't handle larger whole chickens. 6 t is best for 1-2 pp and/or limited counter space. The o.p. mentions the pot-in-pot method. Can only fit a 2L pot inside the inner pot of the 6 qt. Way to go to never have burnt food on the bottom or burn error. P-i-P eliminates having to clean I.P. and allows wider versatility like being able to cook a frozen burrito and other things that would otherwise be soggy from steam exposure assuming that you cover your P-i-P.

Sous vide does not work well in I.P. due to lack of active circulation.

Ahh thanks for that. I actually sous vide in a pot on the stove at the moment. It works "good enough", I use a thermometer to check the temperature. For my stove, between 1 and 2 gets the temperature to about 125 (perfect for fish), 3 gets to 170 (perfect for chicken)
