I LOVE my Q-revo as a bot-mop but its vacuum (at 5500) is pretty pathetic. It has endless trouble with little white dog toy stuffing on low pile carpet, and also sand/grit lying on the tile grout lines. As much as I hated my older iRobot i7 and 680, neither seemed to have any trouble with picking that stuff up. Definitely keep shopping for the Revo; but I would suggest passing this model in favor of the newer version with more suction.

This simply isn't true, at least with this model. The water in the waste tank does indeed get nasty when left for a long time. But it's completely sealed from the room and the rest of the machine. No smell escapes. I've left water in for almost 2 weeks and while it was disgusting, there was no smell outside of the machine.

Folks, the fact that the smell doesn't leak out of the sealed water tank should not provide much comfort.

As one person pointed out, these auto-fill and drain mopping vacs are still in their early generations. Mold can be a problem and is really bad for your health and that of your family.

The clean water tank should never smell. Period. That's the water that's going to go into the robot to mop your floors. You don't want a robot spreading moldy water all over your house. Kind of defeats the purpose. And if you have to empty it daily to prevent issues, then you've got mold growing in the system.

Roborock sells silver ion cartridges that go in the clean water tank, and cleaning solution that you add to the clean water tank when you fill it up. Those should help.

The newest models disinfect and dry the mops before and after each cycle. I have the Qrevo Curv and the dock is pretty impressive. It's only 6 weeks old but the mops and the clean water tank have remained spotless and odor free. The used water tank can get stinky but it's isolated, with the valves at the top, so I just splash a little bleach on the bottom every time I empty it and that has solved the issue (don't do this with the clean water tank!)

Then you should empty it out. Being lazy is one thing (hence why you bought this thing), total reliant of not doing any choirs as an adult is just plain bad habits.
You should've known the masses would be sharpening their pitchforks before posting that, but as an owner, I actually agree with you. I bought this to do the labor-intensive mopping for me. It does that. So now, instead of mopping and vacuuming all I have to do is dump out a bucket. It's been a pretty good trade-off for our family.

One complaint I have (and I see others online) is that the cold water mopping smells like death if you don't empty the bucket immediately after every use. Idk if newer hot water models fixed that but if so I may return and replace.

I have this unit, and while the water in the dirty bucket may smell, the water tight container keeps the smell in. I use it every day and empty it it every 3 days, when I need to fill the clear water tub. The clear containers makes it easy to see the dirt and rinse it. I have no issues of smell leaking out. The unit is in the living room.
Thanks for clarifying. That makes sense.

So would we really need to buy this at $500 and then return it against the reciept of the prior purchase at $600?

If it has been more than 30 days and you want your hundred bucks back, yes.

Still smells like death, but the smell is contained as others have mentioned.

QX is older model. S has been updated with higher suction. Costco return policy may make this worth it.
Where do you see the $414 deal. I only see the $459 on amazon

The clean water tank never smells, I have had this and previous ones. It's the dirty water that stinks but the smell does not leak out of the sealed container. Never seen mold even in the dirty container. Rinsing and washing every now and then the dirty container is all you need.

Roborock's website direct store + an ID.me verification/discount. First responder/government + a handful of others.

Is there a comparable version that's bagless? Definitely don't want to deal with bags.
