I LOVE my Q-revo as a bot-mop but its vacuum (at 5500) is pretty pathetic. It has endless trouble with little white dog toy stuffing on low pile carpet, and also sand/grit lying on the tile grout lines. As much as I hated my older iRobot i7 and 680, neither seemed to have any trouble with picking that stuff up. Definitely keep shopping for the Revo; but I would suggest passing this model in favor of the newer version with more suction.

This simply isn't true, at least with this model. The water in the waste tank does indeed get nasty when left for a long time. But it's completely sealed from the room and the rest of the machine. No smell escapes. I've left water in for almost 2 weeks and while it was disgusting, there was no smell outside of the machine.

Folks, the fact that the smell doesn't leak out of the sealed water tank should not provide much comfort.

As one person pointed out, these auto-fill and drain mopping vacs are still in their early generations. Mold can be a problem and is really bad for your health and that of your family.

The clean water tank should never smell. Period. That's the water that's going to go into the robot to mop your floors. You don't want a robot spreading moldy water all over your house. Kind of defeats the purpose. And if you have to empty it daily to prevent issues, then you've got mold growing in the system.

Roborock sells silver ion cartridges that go in the clean water tank, and cleaning solution that you add to the clean water tank when you fill it up. Those should help.

The newest models disinfect and dry the mops before and after each cycle. I have the Qrevo Curv and the dock is pretty impressive. It's only 6 weeks old but the mops and the clean water tank have remained spotless and odor free. The used water tank can get stinky but it's isolated, with the valves at the top, so I just splash a little bleach on the bottom every time I empty it and that has solved the issue (don't do this with the clean water tank!)

Exactly why I keep going back and forth. I'm hoping Costco has them in store today when I stop. If they do I'll just pick one up there. Reddit has a ton of horror stores dealing with Roborock customer service. You can't beat Costco. Plus it's probably only a matter of time before Costco starts carrying the newer models, so if the current one fails you can return it and get the newer model.
Exactly. In case you were not aware, the app now lets you search in store inventory and price. App->Warehouse->Search warehouse inventory. Costco finally caught up to 2008

So I have an S7 and got one for my in-laws as well. We don't use ours much but we setup a schedule for my in-laws. The thing is honestly a PITA to maintain. I have to empty it and wash the mop every time we go over (which is maybe once every other week). It would be *really* nice to have a self-cleaning/self-maintaining unit... I know what my wife will say about this though LOL. On the flipside, her brother has been commenting about how badly he wants one so maybe we can get this and he can have the S7 (although his high-maintenance self will likely scoff at the thought that he's getting a hand-me-down vs brand new, but he's not in a great financial situation either so he'd be lucky to get anything and even at a discount if we ask him to chip in for the QX as a Christmas gift for them).

I'll definitely pay a premium with Costco. Just run a search of warranty experiences with Roborock on reddit or other forums - total nightmare. Costco is worth it

I'm in the same boat after some cursory research here. Looking to upgrade my in-laws from their S7... the QX Revo is older but the trade-off is Costco's return/warranty policy. That said, I haven't had any issues with our S7s to-date but still. The QRevo ($287.99 refurbed via ebay roborock) and QRevo S ($389.99 with $70 code I have via roborock.com) are newer models though and for a lot less... I'm racking my brain here wondering which way to go.

I've been going back and forth over this for a week now. What I ended up doing is applying for the AMEX business card which gives you a $200 gift card once approved. Then I'll use that card for the purchase which automatically extends the manufacturers one year warranty by an additional year. This isn't as good as Costco, but I'm hoping if I have any issues I'll see them within the first 2 years. I ordered the Plus a couple of days ago and plan on returning it tomorrow when it arrives unless Amazon will match the new sale price of $519.99. If they don't then I'll go with the S for $459.99.

Yea i do have a couple Chase cards with the extended warranty option so may consider that. Buying from Roborock direct seems like it would be the better idea in that case since the refurb warranties usually arent great

I just read that Roborocks customer service is horrible on their site because I'd like to buy from them too because I can get an additional 10% off with the ID.ME discount for military. Amazon is so easy to return things.

Yea ive been hearing the same. Btw the ebay refurbs have a 2yr warranty. I think cc extended warranty will add at least a year (barring this being "ineligible product") which actually isnt too bad.

Edit: i dont think Chase would extend warranty for a 3rd party allstate warranty of a refurb product unfortunately… unless anyone here has an experience they can share otherwise

After going back and forth between buying this or a newer version when those BF sales started today, I finally bit the bullet and ordered this one. I researched and researched and although this is an older model, spending this much money on a vacuum needs to have return protection. Costco is really the only place that provides that piece of mind. Read nothing but bad things about Roborocks customer service if you order directly from them and Amazon is good, but I can return this to Costco anytime and not have a problem.

We've got about 4000 sqft of porcelain tile wood texture floor… We have three kids, a couple of animals and live in the woods. We run robot vacuums (roombas) every day and mop once a week.
I usually buy a new robot every three or four years and we are due. I've never had a mopping one because we have so much floor to clean. Can we rely on something like this or their flagship (MaxV) model to mop, at least part of the floor every day or every other day to where we don't have to mop anymore? Or is a house this size too much to reasonably expect a robot to mop well.

How is it compared to Qrevo S? it is now at 459$ and has more suction power(7000 Pa) than QX Revo(5500 Pa). https://us.roborock.com/products/...ck-qrevo-s or Qrevo Plus https://us.roborock.com/products/...qrevo-plus for 519$.

bought it about 6 months ago at $669, wish it were this cheap. Anyway couldn't be happier, run full clean mode once every two days, recommend to use some floor cleaning detergent into the tank. Occasionally it will snag up with a loose string and needs a manual fix; but It is way better than the stupid roomba I had, which always goes to the bathroom first, pushes the door close, locks itself in, and runs aimlessly until battery runs out…
