No: CDs already have a hole. Just use a 45 adapter.

Unless you grab them yourself at the end of the assembly line, they get tossed around many times on their way to you or a B&M store.

Yeah I know but on some turntables like the original AT LP120 it still colored the sound when disabled because of the way the switch worked.
