Good info but "you get what you pay for" is a very dated belief. You can buy expensive Samsonite at TJ Maxx and still get a crud item that breaks. Name brands are just marketing. Aim for materials, not brands or price.

1. Brand (Samsonite is well known and well regarded) 2. Warranty and support (Samsonite warranty is 10 years, vs travelhouse 2 years) 3. Double Wheels vs Single Wheels (travelhouse picture states "double wheels, but the image shows single wheels) the reason this is an issue is because single wheels don't move well when it gets heavy. 4. You get what you pay for (you don't want to be that person that has a wheel or handle breaking on you, your day will be ruined)

Can anyone comment on the two sets pivot and novaire, material wise? One is Bayer Makrolon PC and the other is PC Recyclex

Looks like the Recyclex is just the inner lining material and not the case itself.

Does anyone know if the Pivot 3 carry-on has a side handle? Voltage DLX does. I am trying to decide between the two sets and the side handle is a big deal for me.

This is true. As some will see from the recent reviews, there are quality control issues associated with these Samsonite Luggage sets. I have $67 100% PC carry-ons from Bagsmart on Amazon and they're just as good if not better than many of the name brands.
