I am looking for a laptop with Intel i9 or AMD Ryzen 9, at least 32gb RAM, RTX 4070, and at least 1TB storage. Is this the best deal on the market right now? Unclear if this is the black friday/cyber monday price. Let me know if you have thoughts!

How do you like it? I'm looking at this, G14, and 7i.

Yes, thats the exact one I bought for $1699. Its been on and off for that price the past 2 weeks. I think as recently as yesterday or the day before it was $1699. I like it a lot! Prior to picking this one, I tried the Asus M16 and 2023 Strix Scar 17.3" with 4080 card and Ryzen CPU. The M16 works but design wise looked and felt dated. The fan is super loud on that one (had an i9 and 4070). The Strix Scar for some reason kept crashing while playing fortnite, and sometimes while not doing anything at all. I bit the bullet and got the Legion 7i as the famous guy on YT said its his pick for gaming laptop of the year. I've come to really like the looks, feel and build quality. Note that even $1699 is expensive for the specs, but I am okay as the build quality and hopefully reliability makes it worth it. You can get an Acer/MSI/HP with similar specs for a lot less.

The 4080 version with the exact same specs has been on sale for $200 more. The 4080 is significantly faster than the 4070. So I will tell everyone to wait. It'll be that price again within the next month, maybe a tab lower and you'll get a much, much better GPU for only $200 or so.

I'm not a PC gamer, but I got the 4070 GPU since I dock my laptop to 2 4K monitors. With my current laptop, it just can't handle that, and I'm unable to even watch YouTube without lagging. Do you think the 4070 would be enough to stream on one screen while I do work on the other? Work typically consists of emailing and Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint. I don't do any 3D rendering or video edits.

Yes. I'm not sure what laptop you currently use but even some basic laptops can do this. There are plenty of work laptops that dont have a dedicated GPU that can handle 2 screens while doing mutiple tasks.

I have a Lenovo Yoga C940, base price $1.2K, with Core i7-1065G7 Processor, Intel Iris Plus Graphics GPU, and 16 GB LPDDR4X. It's about 3 years old. I refreshed my hard drive and still lagging. I realize that the Legion 7i is an overkill for a non-gamer, but I wanted to future proof myself to make sure I have no streaming lag and have a smooth multi-tasking experience. That's why I got the best processor, 32gb memory, and the 4070 GPU. I dont know much about laptops to be honest, but I'm hoping that by getting the upper end of components, I'll be fine for 3+ years.

Yes, you'll be fine with this overkill of a laptop. But that Yoga is capable to do 2 screens and multitask easily.

So you think it's the dock? I don't get why it's so laggy. I use the Spigen ArcDock Pro.

Could be that the dock could be trying to push at a higher resolution that the graphics card cant handle. But that's only a guess.

Legion 7 AMD w/ 4080 was $100 more at the start of the month with ID.me discount and sign up code($100 off). This one shows as $1573 for me with ID.me and code BENKAISER6, can't apply sign up code though. Only the 4080/4090 Legion 7 AMD had the Hyper chamber cooling whereas this one seems to have it on the 4070 version. Pretty good deal, I should have got the AMD 4080 one but decided to wait to see if a better deal would pop up, no luck so far.
