If you are worried about getting a knockoff, Apple is selling these for 9 bucks. Maybe the 2 dolllars more will be worth not dealing with a potential fake that will stop working in a few weeks.

It works on Android but the volume will be limited unless you're rooted (really only an issue if you use high impedance headphones).

For audiophiles, Apple has one of the best mini dongles for iphones. Low volume problems on Android however. Only other flaw is the flimsy cable. I personally went with an Anker dongle with a braided cable for $15 so I suspected it would outlast the Apple one.

I use it on my desktop PC to output audio from a USB port into a stereo receiver:

PC's USB-C Out Port --> Apple DAC Dongle --> 3.5mm Audio Out --> 3.5mm-to-RCA cable --> Receiver's RCA Line In
