Personally I think so yeah. I previously owned airpods and airpods pro (1st gen) and they both developed problems after less than a year. I use them every day for work (long calls that completely drain the battery at least once a day) so YMMV but in my opinion Apple Care would be well worth it. My non-pro airpods got destroyed because I accidentally left them in my pocket when I washed my pants... I think that would also be a covered replacement under Apple Care if I'm not mistaken.

I had the same experience. First of all, maybe because this is a high value item, Amazon does not allow Kohl's drop off. It has to be UPS pick up, and it has to be picked up the next day. So I can't even open the return request any time I want. Instead, I need to plan the next day that I will be home, then open the case previous day.
Then it will take 3-5 days or more to be delivered back to Amazon warehouse. Once they receive it, it takes up to 30 days to actually get the refund.
I got the AirPods Pro 2 during Prime day early October, decided to return on October 18, and just got my refund yesterday. Huge pain, will not do that again.

I had a horrible customer experience with my trade in for my Airpods Pro v1 to v2 at the Best Buy Emeryville, CA store earlier this month when the v2 was last on sale for $170. The associate refused to take my perfect working condition APP v1 and its charging case because I was missing a charger. I explained that Apple does not provide a separate type of charger and that the case itself was the charger which connects by lightning cable to a separate charging unit. He said okay then you have to bring in that charger. I went in circles with him for a few good minutes and I then asked to speak to the store manager. I explained this all over and he agreed with his associate to refuse the trade in. I asked if he would accept the trade in if I brought in any old lightning cable. He said yes he would. I didn't have a lightning cable with me and feeling tired and exasperated, I told him to just cancel my store pick up order and walked away after thirty minutes of my life that I could never get back. I later chatted with BB online to complain about my experience and he agreed with my explanation but said there is nothing he can do with what the store does. I still wanted the upgrade to v2 anyway and I went to another BB store to buy it without a trade in fearing to have to waste time explaining about charging Airpods all over again. I just gave my v1 to my daughter to save me the agony. Good gracious! (BTW, I talked to BB online chat and got the $10 price adjustment today.)

Yes, I drop them all the time, they fall from the ear, and if it's cement or concrete, you'll need new buds after a while .

They probably won't accept it for the trade in. I have the same issue with the static. I was going to wait for the 3rd gen to be released, but highly considering just getting these.
