I bought the 75inch version of this and love it. Newer 4k vibrant movies look great and gaming has been awesome.

Ugh, I had to buy a new TV a month ago and got the U6N 55" for the same price. Not that happy with it. It has a 1/2" strip around the screen that is slightly brighter than the rest. Exchanged it, same thing. They said it's how it is. But with the really great picture quality overall I'm just dealing with it until I can buy a OLED.
The U6N has some great settings to get the picture looking good, and I'm sure the 7N is even better. But beware it is a cheaply made TV, not sure how long they will last. I'd have bought this one if I didn't already have the other. dammit!

I bought this earlier this year for $550. If this is the right size TV for you, then it's probably one of the best deals out there. You'll pay a lot more to get a nicer screen than this.

Any input of the Google aspect of the tv. As far as smart tvs go, I'm worried that Google TV will be as troublesome as the other Google smart devices. I use Roku, and thinking of just adding a stick to this.

This or the Samsung QNX1D?
I'm in same boat. Been looking at this and the comparable TCL along with QNX1D.

Only two hdmi 2.1 slots on this model bugs me a little but aside from that seems like a nobrainer.

I'm deeply in the Samsung eco system at home so watching for QNX1D to hit sweet spot

Any idea how long we can expect this to be at this sale price? I'm in the market for a 55" TV this Black Friday, but not sure if this will be the one.

Otherwise I think I'll order for store pickup and then go get it on one of the last days if I decide to keep it.

Wondering if we might see a quality OLED around $600-$700 at this size?

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

While this is undoubtedly a great price, I'd recommend the TCL QM7 over it for gamers because the U7N exhibits red smearing/ghosting for video games. Sadly, a lot of Hisense TV's do. It's been an issue for years and they've yet to fix it. This is something that'll affect every single one of their TV's.

Additionally, a lot of Hisense TV's go bad after a few years, if that, because of an "insufficient memory error" that completely bricks their televisions. Google it if you doubt what I'm saying. It typically happens after about 2 years or so. It affects both lower end and higher end Hisense models.

When it comes to bang for your buck, you won't get better than the U7N and QM7, however I'd recommend the latter because of the aforementioned issues. Now, that isn't to say that TCL TV's don't have issues, as you could very much get a lemon from that brand, too, however it's not as common as with Hisense, and you won't get the red smearing/ghosting present on Hisense displays.

I've been out of the loop for so long on TVs - I have a Panasonic plasma as my main TV that is starting to fail.

To the TV experts out there, would you go with this or spend a few extra hundred to get a 55" OLED on sale assuming you had the extra money to spend. Thank you!

OLED is definitely better. I have a 65" LG OLED. Best money ($1600) I spent couple years ago.

I am deciding on this or the u8 55". For $200 more you can get the u8 for $700 at best buy or amazon. I primarily use a gaming laptop hooked up via hdmi and do web/graphic design, video editing, youtube streaming and video gaming. I am leaning on spending more for the u8 but was hoping costco would have a deal. If i get one of these TV's is there a better retailer to buy from? Also should i spend $100 for 4 or 5 year warranty?

I still have a Panasonic Viera plasma in my basement, loved it too much to ever get rid of it. I upsized eventually with a TCL 4-series and enjoyed that. A couple years ago I got a bigger TCL 5-series for a main TV, and I still love it - it's noticeably brighter and better in every way than the 4-Series, and I don't miss watching the Panny, which never gets used now. A Hisense U7 or TCL QM7 is even better.

If the price difference was like $100 or so I'd go OLED, and might eventually, but these look great and I think most people will be plenty satisfied with the picture, even without regard for the cost savings.

This or the Samsung QNX1D?
If Samsung is Edge Lit, do not buy it . If it has local dimming or direct lit you can consider it.

I am not sure if that particular model is edge lit or not. https://www.rtings.com/research/t...longed-use

I have had a 2 year old Samsung QLED fail. This article explains why

Edit: I googled the model QNX1D. I believe it is not edge lit. So you should be good and others can weigh in. I'd still get an extended warranty on either of these TVs

I don't know about any Google smart devices being troublesome, but I do like Roku as a TV interface. In addition to streaming, I watch OTA TV with an antenna, and I've come to really like Roku for that. I've used Android boxes for a long time too, but I'm just concerned that I won't like Google/Android for the TV OS, since adding a Roku wouldn't help for OTA TV.
