Got a new model for my car, DroneXC. Dash cam that live streams the video to my cell phone via 5G. So if the alarm goes off, it alerts me and I can pull up live video. The video is also automatically stored in the cloud. So if the entire car is stolen or they steal the dash cam, you'll still have the footage. Tracks the car via GPS too.
Yes, it's more expensive, but dope af.

I WANT THE CAMERAS HIDDEN or at least not obvious. I want no screen built in that forces the camera to be 20x the size it needs to be without a screen.
Dash cams are useless if a thief breaks in and steals the expensive accessory with the screen on your windshield
A unit with a remote processing box would also allow for mounting away from the heat and sunlight, like some higher end radar detector variants where everything is hidden.
Anything of high quality like this available yet?

You probably need to do some research
I mean, you have heard of Tik Tok, and read how they basically steal every bit of info on your cellular devices. Photos, texts, contact lists, shopping habits, where you go, and when, every little detail of your life, they now have.
Given the info that the parent company, Bytedance has access to, simply by installing apps (note - don't need to use them, just have them installed), I think it's prudent to question all apps we have installed by CCP owned or controlled companies.
Your comment about domestic companies is true, but that is an easy fix. Turn off your location and bluetooth, and they will not be able to track you in store. At least until you check out, lol.
As for your apples and oranges, TikTok is societal poison. But you know what you're agreeing to when you're actively sharing data with the service. And no, simply having it installed isn't enough. Permissions have to be agreed to before the OS will let it do anything.
However, your dash cam app isn't uploading all your videos unknowingly.
The first obvious indicator is that many of them connect via Bluetooth. Do you know how limited Bluetooth's bandwidth is? Transferring videos would take ages.
Secondly, the overhead on that is not cheap. The cost/benefit on storing a bunch of mundane driving videos simply isn't there.
Moreover, that level of paranoia is easily solved by pulling the SD card while you have the app open. No videos means nothing to upload.
Now, I'm not saying you shouldn't value your privacy, but let's stop making lame excuses.
As for domestic companies, you should probably look into that a little deeper. They don't need your phone, they have cameras. The systems they have now can tag you as soon as you enter the store and build a profile on you even if you pay cash.
Probably not a concern if you aren't a shoplifter, but do you see where the hypocrisy starts?
Any idea if that's still the case or ? The mini 2 is the only one I'd get because having a cam mounted in the windshield makes you a target in many cities including mine, which gets expensive fast especially if you're in a older premium vehicle with double pane privacy glass and whatnot.
I'd love 4K but there all too big. Idk why they treat these lineups like cell phone lineups where better models get bigger screens.
