Just a heads up. Best Buy will install this (front + back cameras) for $99. The dash cam can be purchased anywhere, it doesn't have to be from Best Buy.
Got a new model for my car, DroneXC. Dash cam that live streams the video to my cell phone via 5G. So if the alarm goes off, it alerts me and I can pull up live video. The video is also automatically stored in the cloud. So if the entire car is stolen or they steal the dash cam, you'll still have the footage. Tracks the car via GPS too.
Ordered the A119. Lowest price ever. Thanks iconian! Just in time as a friend just bought a new car. I've been using 1080P dash cams from Aukey and Yi in the $40-$50 range purchased in 2019 and they've worked flawlessly. Police officer ruled in my favor and wrote up the report favorably for a rear-end collision. I didn't even have a rear dash cam module, but he noticed the impact in the front-facing model I had. In another car, the police officer saw footage of two cars displaying road rage. One of the cars side-swiped my car and the police immediately ruled in my favor and wrote up reckless driving tickets for the two idiots. Every once in a while, check the camera to see that it's working, and reformat the MicroSD card once a month, and you'll be good to go. The dash cam market has caught on its popularity and they have jacked up their prices. A $40-$50 model will work just as well as a $200 model. You're paying for bells and whistles for the $200+ models in my humble opinion. The only reason why I spent more for the A119 is my friend wanted the name brand at the lowest price.
I'm in Georgia summers with cars parked exclusively outside. Have had 3 A119 v3s. Great cameras. Has not failed in 4 years but I'm thinking of swapping it out just to try something new. All connected to cigarette lighter. I find hardwiring to be a pain and not that much better (parking accidents don't really require a dashcam in my experience).
Has been helpful in 1 major accident already. Well, no one was hurt, but the other driver lied. The officer believed the other driver even when I was explaining my side of the story, mostly because my side of the story sounded crazy. Dude tried to turn left out of a shopping center that had a right turn only lane that curved to the right, and to make a left he'd have to position the car very oddly and cross 3 lanes of traffic. He also had a witness in his car that corroborated his lies.
I told the officer he was making a left, and the officer tried to say multiple times "he was making a right, correct?"
No buddy. Showed him the dash cam and then it was easy from there.
One major pain point: accessing video from the camera itself is a pain, so make sure to get a dongle ($7) that can read videos from SD cards to connect to your phone. Keep that in your glove box.
Trust me, you'll be very happy to be able to navigate and scrub through videos on your phone interface over using the camera buttons. It was a huge hassle only using the camera in my accident to do even simple things like rewind the video 30 seconds for the cop.
Congratulations, you bought a piece of copycat fake crap. VIOFO does not sell their products to other companies to rebrand. And Rexing is a lying sack of shi* company that makes complete garbage and calls their fuzzy 2K stuff with horrible firmware 4K.

Is this really a deal? I saw them at $80 and $160 off last month which is about the same price as now
It was a $80 clipped coupon off $359.99 for the 2-ch A229 Pro, making it $279.99. With the promo code and the sale price now, that same option is $220.79....$220.79 < $279.99.
I've been eyeing this for exactly a month, so I know. Ever since that crazy insurance fraud incident that got captured by dash cam (Viofo A129 Pro btw), popped up on the news, I've made it a priority to equip both house vehicles.

Thanks. I also had both in my cart and could've sworn it was more than $80 off though. 80 was for the non 4k option and I thought 4ke 4k option was 160 off.

Perhaps, but I don't recall seeing $160 off. In my cart before this deal became live, the A229 PRO 2-ch was $279.99 after an $80 coupon. If it was $160 off I more than likely wouldn't have waited.
Do you know which older models are they replacing? I can't find anything online.
I couldn't find anything online either but I called the customer service and I hassled them for 30 mins and spoke with the manager about the concerns from the video

Which specific viofo dashcam did you buy? There is no mentioning in the post. Did you hardwire them, used cigarette lighter socket or used OBD2 cable for power? Why did you buy 3 units in 2 years when they had issues and why did you buy their sd card 3 times again?
He got his dashcam brands confused with Viofo...he actually bought a Viopho from some rando selling at the street corner.
